Activity

Cordial invitation to visit the opening of the VWBPE contribution 2024 of interstellART: "Back To The Future - Extraterrestrial Myths Of Origin" on 25th at 8am SLT or later. Paticipating artists are Azi Az, Barret Darkfold, Caro Fayray, Shenn Tao, Sujeewa Kumari, Sanjeewa Kumara and Asmita Duranjaya. Enjoy the interactivity of this immersive environment.
Ada Ini and Asmita Duranjaya have created the portraits of 30 power women as they
have existed, exist and will exist as probabilities in past human history as well
as today and in the future.
The written history of humanity is a narrative defined primarily by men, and besides that,
it has different accents in different parts ofthe world and is based on facts whose
interpretations are sometimes diametrically opposed.
History as it would have been or is being told by women is still in a process of evolving.
In this respect, it seems justified to offer an art project to draw attention to this fact.
The visual narratives of women are immediately accessible to the viewer. To read the textual
narratives, one only has to click on the image for the text to appear on the screen.
Have fun discovering the (his)story of power women!

"EYES" is the recent exhibition of the cybART-group of seven artists: Caro Fayray, Azi Az, Barret Darkfold, Sujeewa Kumari, Sanjeewa Kumara, Victoria Logan and Asmita Duranjaya; the exhibition has been a part of the VWBPE-Conference 2023 and is an example how to use virtual world tools to understand and process an artistic topic from different angles. Start at interstellART_exhibitions, take a hud and tp to the areas of the artists.
The central spot for the sim environment of interstellART_exhibitions, introduces sometimes collaborative projects of independent artists on the basis of a specific topic and serves sometimes as a creative area for the sim-variations of Asmita Duranjaya.
In the moment the sim basis shows on its 9 regions the exhibition "MnemoScapes - Forget Me Not".
Asmita explains: "MnemoScapes try to visualize parts of my composite personality, with memories of the past mixed with imaginations and reflections. It is ME, what you see there on each of the 9 regions: DigiScape, LonerScape, CityScape, PalmScape, DesertScape, WinterScape, FractalScape, ForestScape and the CentralScape with my musical background related to Early Music of the Renaissance and the Middles Ages. In correspondence to my own 3D-installations I found a similar intention in the work of 8 other female artists, who work in 2D. They are presented with a link to infos about the person and 3 examples of their work on an easel-display in the CenterScape." There is a hud available with elaborated information on each of the 9 Scapes and with a tp to every region of interstellART_exhibitions plus interStellART. In a sky-globe there are more exhibitions of 7 active artists in OS-Grid: Caro Fayray, Shenn Tao, Victoria Logan, Cherry Manga, Azi Az, Sujeewa Kumari, lalie Sorbet. All those areas are accessible with the hud.
My Protective Sanctuary - Photo Contest
The new community exhibition My Protective Sanctuary at interstellART in the OS Grid has already been an attraction for many visitors and it is known that quite a few active people in virtual worlds also like to use the photo function of their viewer. That's why the idea came up to organise a photo competition in connection with the exhibition, giving participants the opportunity to present their view of the individual installations by the eleven artists. The winner of the competition will receive his/her own exhibition space for his/her photos.
And here are the conditions:
1. Take 12 photos => 1 for each installation=11 and 1 as an overview (use the hud for tp).
?
2. You can use different windlights and also post-process the photos.
3. The photos should not have more than 1024 x1024 .
4. Send your photo folder to Asmita Duranjaya (copy, mod, no trans) by 01.12.2021.
5. A jury will decide which photo series to exhibit by mid-December.
6. Any hypergrid traveller can participate.
Have fun and good luck
Asmita Duranjaya

Dear photographers, concerning the photo-contest of interstellART I would like to add some considerations: We expect in a certain way artistic photos, which represent the essence of the art installations as you see it. Portraits of yourself might be funny, but they are not the topic of this contest. You have enough time to work with the pictures befor you send them to the jury, use different windlights while taking snapshots, process them in a graphic software and convince us with your artistic talent. All the best.
My Protective Sanctuary
Where: interstellART_exhibitions
When: 3 years ago [17 Oct 2021 13:00 SLT]

Eleven times, visitors to the new interstellART exhibition can immerse themselves in personal sanctuaries as individually designed by the participating artists*. From the central landing point, the individual protection zones can be reached by teleport access or by a portable hud. The artistic ideas and conceptions range from fantasy gardens to temple-like presentations of photos or mixed media images to conceptual representations of inner states, memories, life circumstances and ethereal meditation bubbles. Many of the participating artists provide visitors with a mini version of their installation as a gift on a sky platform. The exhibition on Var-Sim by artist and curator Asmita Duranjaya will be on view for the next five months and will open on October 17th 2021 at 10pm CET/1pm SLT with a Fracticularium, a fracticle performance featuring temporary hud-controlled shelter zones created from particles, accompanied by music. A warm invitation goes out to all hypergrid travellers interested in art. The best way to access is via Asmita Duranjaya's profile in the OS Grid to the sim region interstellART_exhibitions.

Not only in times of external and internal crisis most of us need a place of refuge, an option to feel physically and mentally protected.
12 artists have started to work two months on their imagination of such a protective sanctuary in the virtuality of the OSGrid. From October 2021 this collaborative exhibition will be on display for some months on the var-sim interstellART_exhibition, curated by Asmita Duranjaya.

Cordial invitation to visit our new project "Reconnaissance In Times Of Darkness" in OSGrid. The project will be
part of the VWBPE 2021 in the category "Immersive Experience" an will be introduced on 21st of March at 2pm SLT:
The access for persons without OSGrid-account is as follows:
They have to register at this page: https://www.osgrid.org/accounts/?q=user/register
The easiest way is to look for my profile: Asmita Duranjaya and then choose the VWBPE-

The collaborative art-project "Reconnaissance In Times Of Darkness" has been accepted as an example for a best practice immersive experience and will be part of the yearly VWBPE conference (Virtual World Best Practice In Education https://www.vwbpe.org/). The participating artists are happy about this decision and look forward to their day of presentation, which will be announced here. Until that date the completed shows can be visited from now and until the end of this month all 10 art installations will be finished. SneakPreview
Read my sneak-preview article about the upcoming art-project "Reconnaissance In Times Of Darkness here: https://juripelonen.blogspot.com/2021/02/sneak-preview-rec... .
In the New Year I am going to document the creation of my new virtual presence in OSGrid. Daily I am working step by step to bring my items from SL to my new sims, six normal sized (256x256) and one var-sim (nine regions of 256x256). Soon I will post an overview, but today I want to start with the reconstruction of the temple gallery for my artist friends in Sri Lanka, Sujeewa Kumari and Sanjeewa Kumara, whom I could not visit this year in real because of corona. I want to thank also Kyoko, who will give the work of both artists a home in Second Life (slurl will be published soon). Sujeewa's and Sanjeewa's work is on display in my region called MarketPlace, where I present for a preview my gallery buildings, sold in SL marketplace (Spectaclum Artis https://marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/25905):
x-grid-info://osgrid/region/MarketPlace/135/118/24 .
All the buildings will be filled with art, some with my own work and some with pieces of invited artist friends. Please tell me, if you would be interested to be on display in the BauhausGallery or in the ModernArtGallery.
