As I've just posted: The Lab won't go investigate themselves.
"There will be a new category of support ticket added for reporting alleged instances of content theft"
Anyone can squeal on anyone. And they WILL.
I mean, everyone can lie back and relax and say, "They ain't gonna do nothin'."
But it takes one user to file a support ticket on SL about R. Lion or Darkhearts. And that SL assets worth probably over L$1,000,000 are available there for free. Chances are good the whole respective grid will be a goner. And everyone involved will be tracked down by the FBI and, if necessary, international investigators.
One thing I can tell you: The instance that the first OpenSim user is busted for 'botting, all hell will break loose. For one, most of the bigger grids will start scrubbing. But besides, this new support ticket category will be used as a weapon of mass destruction against sims or entire grids by whoever doesn't like them. Freebie store owners will rat on other freebie store owners just to get rid of the competition. Old inter-grid wars will start anew, but this time, there are actually effective weapons with which to destroy both entire grids and their owners once and for all.
