Opensimworld is such a great resource for opensim - love it! The home page has so much useful info on it.
My request - could The Box be moved further down the page? Maybe swap with Events or Bookmarks? Just because more often than not The Box is so depressingly infantile and completely useless to anyone looking for information.

Below is a reposting of a comment I made in response to Openlife’s pathetic and wrongheaded rebuff to my initial post. I promised to repost my comment if it was deleted from the thread. Not only did my comment get deleted, but I have been blocked, but through the wonderful technology of alts I am able to access Onellife’s diatribe and also what others who have blocked me are posting. No surprises, it has allowed Onelife to distort and manupulate in order to put across his (wrongheaded) point of view, even to the point of contradicitng themselves on a few occasions.
Seriously, 4chan and 8chan could learn stuff from this lot! Indeed, the more I think about it there is an element in Opensim that seems to want to promote some kind of conspiracy theory. Inadvertantly I seem to have provided fodder, though I cannot for the life of me see how my few comments, none of them at all outrageous, unless you’re one of the EIOSSBF cartel, have created such a furore From that they seem to have taken on a life of their own, becoming ever more grossly distorted according to the viewpoint people like Onelife want to project. Good to see that there is at least a fewwho have a balanced view of the software industry. In the interests of full disclosure I am the person who wrote the article for which Openlife’s article is, I suppose, a attempted rebuff .
For clarity's sake, my piece is still up and there to read. Several people have rather bizarrely taken what I wrote and assumed that it is an endorsement of the EchoVoice project. It is not. It is, however, an opinion piece suggesting that if we want the nice things in Opensim, then it's likely we'll have to pay for them, or do without - it really is that simple. EchoVoice was used as an exemplary, nothing else.
I was also accused by Openlife of more or less demanding money with menaces, and by another suggesitng that I was calling people ‘cheap’*.when all I did was to suggest that most people could afford small contributions: not that they had to, and nowhere did I even hint that people should donate, merely that they more than likely could. Of course there will be a very small number of people who won’t be able to afford to contribute to anything, but I hardly think they will exist in any significant number in virtual worlds as they will be destitute, not inworld, and have far more to worry about than the people on here who are triggered at any suggestion that they could, shock, horror, pay some money for something for once in Opensim.
One of Harper Held’s comments was so abusive and intemperate that I not only deleted all their comments, but also blocked them. Both Openlife and GlennXpletive had some of their comments deleted due to them being either needless repetition, or irrelevant rants that had no place and only served to interrupt the flow of the thread. Because of this Xpletive then felt it okay to make xenophobic comments about my ethnicity. A complaint has been made about that.
Any pertinent comments were left. And yet I have been accused by Xpletive of restrictung their free speech, which is ludircrous. If they want to rant about me there are plenty of places where they could do that, and heck, they could even set up a website to do that - but of course, to do that properly, it would cost them money, and presumably these people are the core of the ‘Everything in Opensim should be free’ cult.
Sure, it's possible that someone could come along and do it for 'free', but it's unlikely. The eagle-eyed will also have spotted that my piece, whilst focusing on a voice module, was somewhat wider in scope, and was presenting an argument that maybe we should be prepared to cough up a small amount of money, if we want nice things in Opensim. However, that one didn’t succeed, probably because of the avaialbility of Vivox, which, to a degree is understandable, but hardly an ideal solution.
The notion that Red Hat Linux is free of cost because Fedora is free is also a bit of a dishonest claim. Red Hat does have a cost: https://www.redhat.com/en/store/linux-platforms
EDIT: IBM through Red Hat largely finances both Fedora and CentOS Stream, and development is by both the community and paid professionals employed by Red Hat. A symbiotic relationship common to many opensource projects.
And, as Mike Chase says in his comment, there is a heck of a lot of paid-for work in GNU/Linux and the ‘free’ is more about freedom than free of cost, and, to be fair, most distros don’t make a charge for, but many (if not most) do ask for a contribution to cover their costs, such as this, from Ubuntu MATE: https://ubuntu-mate.org/download/amd64/jammy/thanks/?metho...
I certainly didn’t intend to stir up a hornets (or is it a vipers?) nest over this, all I wanted to do in essence was show how the power of numbers could work hugely to our collective advantage. Anyone might think I’d suggested that people should donate their life savings, or steal the bread from their childern’s mouths! Seriously, some of you would do well to go back to school and learn English comprehension.
*Come to think about it, I do think that most of those bitterly complaining and using the poverty of others as a weapon with which to beat me are indeed ‘cheap’. Not just because they don’t want to contribute towards Opensim project, but because they are cynically and despicably exploiting poor people to bolster their arguments rather than going off and berating exploitative employers for not paying their workers enough to live a comfortable life, or petitioning the government to ensure that adequate unemployment benefits are paid to workers unable to find work.

I have rebranded the grid to Three Hills Grid. When we first named the grid we thought to name it after the magazine and since then, I have seen another grid named Virtual Grid, so as to eliminate any confusion I thought it would be best to rename it. I have always thought of Black Hills Gold as Three Hills Gold (the trio color of the gold) so naming it Three Hills Grid seemed right. New Release: Sol et Luna, a steampunk watch.
This time I made a simple wrist watch, it obviously shows the time but also the date in an unconventional way.
The wrist band can be either brown or black, it's controlled by a menu that appears on click and it comes for system avatars and ruth v2/4.
You can resize it to make it fit properly on your avatar and as always all the textures are included for your customisation needs.
Don't forget to read the manual.

What's New on Opengrid World?
As you may know, Opengrid World is the new name for Bernicia Prime. But it has changed!
I've tried to keep most of the good stuff where possible but thought it was time for a bit of a change. I've made more use of the centre of the sim (where the old town was) and turned it into a park and maze. I've also added a small Satyr Farm.
The Quick Shopping area has been given a good makeover with new layout and shops. I've added more Ruth2 and Roth2 stuff that I haven't seen anywhere else on Opensim. A new store called "Odds and Ends", which has lots of goodies from Arcadia (pirate buindings) and Paramour (dance balls etc.) and also goodies for Tinies. The old favourites are all still there - Selea Core, Athena, Athena Petite, Decadence, For Men, Synclair Designs (I must get around to making more for that store), Adult Store etc.
As always, everything is free.

I love challenges, but my recent review mentioned that my belly button rings are not rigged for Athena. Athena is not a standard avatar shape so when rigging with Avastar it isn't quite right. My belly button rings are meant to attach to the belly for standard shapes. I just added a new Peace sign belly button ring that attaches to the standard avatar belly. I never say never, but this time I am - I don't want to take a ripped rig into blender to please my critics.

Choose kindness, always.
Different reasons bring all of us here to this online hobby that we all love. All of those reasons are valid.
And everyone has different skill sets. That's ok too.
It's disheartening to hear about people being unkind to folks in this hobby that are trying to help others with the technical side of it, finding things or even viewer help. Those helpers are volunteering their own time. Giving it freely with one expectation, that you treat them with respect and kindness. Anything else is not acceptable.
The same goes for completely trashing someone's region creation on here. Not everything will be to everyone's tastes. How about we celebrate and amplify the ones we love instead?
You never know what someone's challenges are behind the keyboard. Everyone struggles. Remember we are all human and vulnerable.
And always be kind. It will come back to you too:)

Das ganze Grid hat eine Dynamische Zuweisung des Arbeitsspeichers bekommen, aktuelle Auslastung bei 21 GB und einer CPU Auslastung von durchschnittlich 11% bei 32 Kernen
Noch läuft die Config auf dem beta-Grid, aber wird in den nächsten tagen zum Maingrid.

This took me a little while to make, it's not a new product but the consolidation of the look of the shop and related items.
I re-made the whole shop, with the familiar look it had before but a little bit more steampunkish, modern materials and I got it ready for future technologies like PBR materials.
It features an elevator now instead of the good ol' ramps and while it looks more or less the same size than before it holds a ton more space than before so my perpetual issue with space is over.
The beacon now is inside the shop for whom comes to the sim to choose another destination.
Also I made a new boxand refreshed every single product in the shop.
I'll release a new product soon now that this project that started in 2019 is finally complete.

At long last, Avalon Reborn is back up!
I decided that I wanted a custom manicure, but was disappointed to discover that the UV mapping for the fingernails and toenails only allowed for a single color (or texture) to be applied. So. . . I remapped the UVs and now each nail can be unique. I've only made one "polish" so far but have saved all of my working files (blender, photoshop, etc) out on GitHub if anyone else wants to play around with it or make their own. I didn't modify the meshes at all, but since I changed the UVMapping for the nails, I rigged and re-exported those as .dae files that will work with the universal texture. The fingernail texture is on Aux1, and the toenail texture is on Aux2. I also put them in a box in the welcome area of my region.
