It doesn't feel like it's been a year since I picked up amazing valentine's day backdrops and accessories for doing photos last year. Thank you for your contributions to OpenSim, Felix.

On one hand it's impolite to assume you are welcome to help yourself to a plate of cookies. On the other hand if you don't want to share them, perhaps keep them in the cookie jar.

And I am sure if they spoke to Granny, she would had shared her cookies.

Words of wisdom for sure. This is why I now have everything set to no copy, though I leave the region open for people to visit and enjoy what I have built and a bit of nostalgia from a time that seems long gone...my childhood. It was never set up as a shopping or freebie region so I guess that means make it all no copy. And if they want a cookie, they can do like my mother taught me and "ask politely.".

If one part of the build is not full perm, this will happen. It can be a texture or even a script and you might miss it. Sometimes the region is being over taxed and might need a restart, or you might need to clear your own cache.

Honestly that's why I avoid the OS hand me down Thrift shops. I mean, the shop build might be worth while to visit, but it's almost always the same stuff you see in every one of these stores. I guess it does serve some purpose for some.

I can see it's usefulness for new people who has a completely empty inventory. I think I wouldn't mind a carefully curated collection either, especially of deceased creators.
But yeah in general is what you said.

What you said in turn. And I'd extend your second sentence to creators who simply aren't active anymore and whose own sims have disappeared.

I know someone who is working on the most extensive Selea Core collection to date with the goal of putting it all into a big store. That same person is also trying to fix Selea's rezzboxes which tend to misbehave. Can't tell you much more than this so far.

Arcadia Asylum/Aley Resident/Aley Arai would certainly be worth collecting and reselling because I think there isn't a single place yet that at least tries to collect and offer it all, especially not without mixing it with stuff from other creators. In her case, (re)packaging may make sense because most of her creations don't come boxed at all and would take up a whole lot of space if offered unboxed. (Then again, I don't like acquiring buildings without being able to walk through them first.)

I myself run three small shops, all items in which are being resold (with the exception of one box of my own, and even that one's contents weren't made by me from scratch). But they're all selected, specialised and curated. I only repackage to fix something that's broken, and then I leave the box contents as they are. Sometimes I add self-made alpha masks to clothes boxes to make life easier for my customers. And in one case of a box of shirts, I've added more variants for convenience, again, without removing anything. My menswear shop even tells you which items you currently can't hope to be able to wear on a Roth2 v2, and it warns you about the Antony Pants' outrageously high ARC.

But you're the exception more than the norm, sadly.

Most people won't care about those details, they will try to "fill" their stores/sims/malls as fast as possible disregarding any detail. If you add special items to make your clothes fit better it makes the object transformative by definition and that's awesome.

I had some people showing very modified versions of my stuff in their sims and I loved it because a single object turns into a collaborative effort that will benefit everyone in the end, to me that's what this is about.

2+ years ago was the last time I did a make over of my everyday traveling the Metaverse avatar. Due to multiple people contacting me concerned my shape being copied/distributed I felt compelled to do another make over. Obviously if you change the shape of the ears, it's now "your" original shape, LOL. But the similarities were close enough that I felt uncomfortable with it. The above is one of the many NPCs I've created and used for modeling purposes, and NPC dancers.

I have retired my Catya head: https://gyazo.com/1a0b21469464af37483467e6ea1e2892

There are creators in SL who sell shapes for different heads on MP. You can edit the appearance and copy the numbers on the sliders and use them on your OS avatar. Some full perm shapes can be exported via .XML using regular old firestorm. No copy botting required. Save the file to your computer, and import it on OS. I always suggest tweaking any shape to suit your personality and taste. There are youtube tutorials to show you how to do this.

There are so many free heads out there to play with, don't be limited by what comes in the box. (^_^)

When I compare the nominal fee to have my region hosted against my non existent skillset in this area and compound that with the inconsistent time I spend in virtual, it's not something worth while for me. I do have the high respect for those who do have that skill set and do it for themselves. (^_^)

I used to collect them from the harbor, or foundation grid, and Felix has done some nice ones too. What made it exciting for me was the newness of the content. Face it, the stores a while back all carried the same content mostly. For myself personally, I find seeing the same content copied and repackaged somewhere else… not all that interesting. My avatar inventories tend to be my personal shopping malls. When building I just needed to search my inventory for something or ask one of my like minded friends. My shopping sprees are pack ratting expeditions.

I don't have a store on my region, but I do have a storehouse for my alts and myself. That way we have a place to put old stuff we have found and new stuff we want to share with each other. It's a curated selection of what you find everywhere, and some stuff that's rare. Will it ever become a store open to all? Not likely. But it might eventually be open to, as you put it, "like minded friends," as a mutually maintained storehouse.

We would legit just drop a note in group chat, “Looking for…” and if it was out there someone shared it or told you where to get it, or went shopping with you. Fun times.

What group is that? I notice your style sheets (list of outfit items and such) mainly have items from a now closed grid. Is there an OS group to put in a request?

It was just a small private group of friends from a grid that got flushed along with all our inventories.

Cute little spot. Love that the content is original to OpenSim. Woot. This outfit fits quite nice. Very little adjustments to alpha hud necessary in the inner thighs if stretching that fabric to it's limits. textures quite nice too. Yay!

Cute dress. Love finding new little gems that carry their own fresh imports and not just recycling the same content from outside sources. yay!

Ooooooo… more goodies! I absolutely love the head by the way. I have fingers crossed for hoping for a hud with more makeup choices.

I've done it... I don't recall how off the top of my head but it's doable and you don't need admin to do it for you. Or I didn't.

I figured it out! Thanks!! I had blocked a user, which ALSO made their their REGION unavailable. So I just UNBLOCKED them, and unBookmarked the region. Then REBLOCKED them!! lol

I didn't intend to start a thread for moaning and bitching about anyone specifically. If you are tired of spam, welcome to the club. I just wanted a way to moderate my home page to filter to the stuff I do want to see and filter out the spam I don't. I'm deleting all replies to this thread. If you wish to share your thoughts and feelings, please do so from your page. (^_^) Have a great day all.

If you don't want to see my face you can mute me too! LOL

That's unusual, if you tell me your OSG name I can check if there was a problem in the console.
