What you said in turn. And I'd extend your second sentence to creators who simply aren't active anymore and whose own sims have disappeared.
I know someone who is working on the most extensive Selea Core collection to date with the goal of putting it all into a big store. That same person is also trying to fix Selea's rezzboxes which tend to misbehave. Can't tell you much more than this so far.
Arcadia Asylum/Aley Resident/Aley Arai would certainly be worth collecting and reselling because I think there isn't a single place yet that at least tries to collect and offer it all, especially not without mixing it with stuff from other creators. In her case, (re)packaging may make sense because most of her creations don't come boxed at all and would take up a whole lot of space if offered unboxed. (Then again, I don't like acquiring buildings without being able to walk through them first.)
I myself run three small shops, all items in which are being resold (with the exception of one box of my own, and even that one's contents weren't made by me from scratch). But they're all selected, specialised and curated. I only repackage to fix something that's broken, and then I leave the box contents as they are. Sometimes I add self-made alpha masks to clothes boxes to make life easier for my customers. And in one case of a box of shirts, I've added more variants for convenience, again, without removing anything. My menswear shop even tells you which items you currently can't hope to be able to wear on a Roth2 v2, and it warns you about the Antony Pants' outrageously high ARC.
