Building my own grid, where I intend to start an unprecedented roleplay, I believe, both in OS and SL. It will be based on a creation of mine, the worship of the Goddess Velathri, the one who granted the human race spiritual fulfillment through the practice of sexual pleasures. Perhaps the great differential of the OS is precisely the possibility of being what we want, doing what we want, with whoever we want, whenever we want. Unlike SL, governed by a single and absolute TOS, fundamentally based on US legislation, OS is a surpannational web, basically governed by the will of those who implement its Grids.
Therefore, there is space for everything and everyone. I doubt this data about only 200 people on the OS web. It looks like a data provided by the research institute I took it out of my ass. I also doubt that everyone involved in the OS is somehow "damaged." There is everything. And there is room for everything. From those really "damaged", who want to escape reality, to good developers who enjoy what they do, who enjoy spending their time creating for the platform. And yes, my fellow virtual prudes, for those looking for good old-fashioned sex. Not so "old-fashioned", after all, since being virtual, it needs a certain dose of modernity.
And why then the OS fails to attract younger people? Easy to answer. Compare what is offered by any other games and what we have to offer in terms of graphics, agility, interaction, story building, agility... In short, a lot of things where OS and SL, compared to other games, are in the Stone Age.
Is collaboration necessary? Of course yes. But collaboration is necessary in all aspects of life, whether real or virtual.
More necessary however, from my point of view, is unrestricted respect for freedom. As long as your freedom does not become harmful to others, it must be preserved, respected and encouraged.
Whoever you are, or what you want to be, doesn't matter. But be happy. That's what really matters.

If there's something that irritates me both in SL and Opensim, it's trying to discuss certain issues based on US legislation. In SL, it would eventually make some sense, as Linden Labs' servers are housed there and must necessarily be used by all users. But one of the main features of the OS is that it is supranational. That is, several legislations - or no legislation - can govern each Grid. For example, legislation on copyrights. It would be quite interesting to see someone in the USA trying to sue someone in Andorra for copyright infringement. That's one point. The second point that is clear to me is that if you want to be a creator and marketer of Assets, your place is in SL, which already has an ingrained culture of commerce. Opensim does not have this culture and cannot have it, at the risk of being mischaracterized. The collection of rents for land, however, seems valid to me. After all, the Grid operator is giving up a space on its hardware for someone else to install. I, for example, who want to have the freedom to deal with my space in the way I determine, I used Dreamgrid and for some time now I have been operating my own grid on my own machine. My grid is non-commercial, I don't want to make money from it. I want the freedom to gather whoever I want, however I want, under the rules I determine. Choice issue. As for me, I will always be in favor of making Assets freely available, as a way of maintaining the OS's spirit of freedom.
P.S.: A long time ago, in the last century, in the early days of the Internet, I learned that using caps lock is offensive. It's like you're screaming in your reader's ear.
