OSCC Do You Know Who I Am? Avatars & Identities

OSCC Keynote 2 1 years ago | 2023-12-09 17:00 SLT
Assumptions and biases towards the person behind the avatar may be based on the experience or lack of experience a person has with avatars in virtual spaces. While those of us who have been in virtual worlds for a long time tend to have fewer assumptions about avatars in general, a recent experience with university administration resulted in a total shutdown of a space dedicated to student mental wellness.

Managing student emotions in the metaverse

OSCC Keynote 2 1 years ago | 2023-12-09 16:30 SLT
Some people think that going to online school deprives children of the opportunity to learn about emotions. But, wherever humans are, there are bound to be emotions involved. What are the emotional patterns that occur in relationships in metaverse schools, and how do teachers deal with emotional problems between students? This is what I will bring up in my presentation.

OSCC MSG ART, Say What?

OSCC Keynote 2 1 years ago | 2023-12-09 11:00 SLT
As we’ve previously established last year, art is art, whether its created in the outer world with physicals substances like paint or digitalized on a computer or words fed as prompts to an AI. And all art conveys a message, but do we want the visual of the message to be controlled by a messenger or the message to be formulated by a viewer? My new art revolution is “take full control of my art!” Come learn why and how I do this?

OSCC OpenSimulator WordPress Interface with w4os

OSCC Keynote 2 1 years ago | 2023-12-09 08:00 SLT
Web registration, users and grid management : few solutions, fewer actively maintained, and the easiest of them do not allow mixing an efficient management solution with a rich website. OpenSimulator integration with WordPress seems to be the way to go. The way for us. Oh, wait… yes, that’s it: the W4OS.

W4OS is a WordPress plugin for OpenSimulator grid management. It allows users to register for an avatar and choose a starting outfit. It also provides a web assets server, useful shortcodes, and more!

OSCC22 Perceptual Hashes for Copyright Protection and Copybot Detection

OSCC Keynote 2 2 years ago | 2022-12-11 16:30 SLT
Perceptual hashes can be used to tell you how similar two images are to each other, without having to reference either images. This could be used to quickly detect copyright violations by detecting slightly modified versions of ‘borrowed’ images. I have extended this to calculating perceptual hashes of 3D objects.
