It's finally completed, the Lavine Mansion!! Inspired by a wonderful friend and amazing builder/creator/designer Koshari Mahana, I decided to create my own mansion borrowing a few ideas from one of her builds. This mansion has all the charm of the Victorian Era, with downright "royal" beauty. It has a huge kitchen area, dining area, study or Livingroom and a sunroom or garden room washroom/bathroom on the first floor, the 2nd floor boasts 5 bedrooms and a large bathroom, the 3rd floor has 4 guest rooms or dorms for visitors and the 4th floor is all attic space. You really have to see this beauty to appreciate the time, effort and detail put into it. It's only drawback is it has a land impact of 812, but it's worth every bit of it. There is one small porch on the front for the 2nd floor and two much larger porches on the back of the house for the 1st floor and 2nd floor. Stop by and check it out, it is on the 1st level of the mall grounds just below the fantasy floating homes. It's full perm and free for any who would like it. Blessings and much love, Lavia.

I've been working on this turn of the century "Store House" which is a Store and a House. Back in the 19th century and early 20th century, and in fact some places still today, are designed so that folks can run their business from the first floor of their home which was generally kept separate from the living quarters of the house. This house is designed with walnut floors, sponge plaster ceilings, acacia wood trim and lattice (semi Tudor) windows. It has three chimneys which service all three floors. There was little to no indoor plumbing back then and the type of heat we have today did not exist so they had either a fireplace or coal or wood stove on each floor to provide adequate heat. Some homes did have hand pumps for water in them but most water was carried in buckets from a well nearby and heated on the coal or wood stoves to use for cooking, cleaning, laundry and bathing. If you happen to be working on a western or midwestern town setting, this build would be perfect for you. A little piece of history always adds a authentic touch to any region. It is full perm, however, it is total mesh so removing parts is not advisable, however you may re texture it, just understand that even back then, when they found wallpaper (most folks only had wood or plaster) they used the same wallpaper in every room, so if you re texture the entire inside of the build will be that texture. The walls are two faced in that you can put one texture on the outside of the building and a different one on the inside and all of the baseboards are a different texture. You may copy it and or transfer it or share it to others. Just have fun with it...Blessings and much love, Lavia

Something I've been working with for a while now was how to make a decent tree trunk and branches and finally, at last, I got one that doesn't look too bad. It's a North American Pignut Hickory, or what we always called a Hognut tree. They're beautiful and provide lots of shade especially when you're on a walk through the woods in the summer and they smell so good in the fall, and the hickory wood burning on a campfire or in a fireplace smells so good! Anyway, it's at the mall in the garden center waiting just for you to beautify your region. Pop in and take a look around and go a little "nuts"...pun intended. Today has been a busy day at the mall as not only have we opened our new Magic Shop, but I got a little creative and made these Owl Lamps. I had gotten a lamp that was labeled "Owl Lamp" it turned out to be a Peregrine Falcon lamp, so I corrected the name on that one and made two, what I think are, really cute owl lamps with my favorite bird perched atop a tree and the moon providing the light. There are two versions, one with the owl facing front, and the other from the side and there are duplicate table versions as well. I have all four of them boxed up and waiting for you in the Living rooms Department in our Furniture section of the mall. One of my latest creations with a little help from around Opensim, however the gladiolus and spider mums are my creations as is the arched flower bed. ANNOUNCING our newest department at the mall - "Heating & Cooling" and we'll have some cool stuff and hot deals for you!!! These two fireplaces are two of my original builds, but only two. There will be others and yes we'll have a few "imported" fireplaces and other items, but I will do my best to build many more items than are imported. What I have been doing is taking the houses I've built that have "heating" units and unlinking the units from the homes then placing them independently in the Heating & Cooling department. This is my latest build and I think one of my personal favorites, a one room luxury cabin with a raised floor for the Kitchen Area, high rise ceilings with large open front, back and side windows to let in all that beautiful sunlight and to just enjoy nature while snuggling next to the built in fireplace. It has carved wooden doors and decorative shutters and simple 4 pane windows and log door frames. This cabin would be gorgeous in any forested or mountainous setting. It is partial mesh but it can be retextured and it is copy, mod, transfer; it has a land impact of 34 including the doors and built in fireplace that has a warm crackling fire going. I had this townhouse out at the mall and did not realize I had forgotten to put a sales box with it. Today I made that discovery and well, color me embarrassed. I am adding scripts to the furniture that will allow you to store your items like clothing, shoes, jewelry and just about anything you want for your role play enjoyment, but you don't have to use this furniture for immersive RP you can use it as a secondary storage for your favorite outfits and other things you need quick access to without searching forever in your inventory for them. This beautiful Pillar House was specially built for a dear friend's region to accommodate a people in her RP story. I am also making it available to others in Open Sim who would like it for their own regions. It features 3 levels, the first level being open for comfy outdoor activities like picnic or just lounging, the 2nd level is nice for living and cooking space and the top floor is for sleeping and bathing. It has a wrap around porch and is constructed of granite in various colors, polished brass and beautiful dark wengwood. Constructed to last many years, theoretically, of course. This beautiful treehouse / hut village is ready and available for all with the approval of the friend that I built it for. There are five huts with decks and ground to deck teleport access. It is full perm and free and waiting for anyone who would like a nice treehouse village in their region. All of the Tree Houses are connected with suspended log bridges for a nice "woodsy" experience. Don't want a whole village but like the idea of a tree house with a deck? I build this for a friend, a tree hut with a deck and a log bridge in between. It is not yet available at the mall but will be soon enough. It is small though the tree is big and the deck is a good size for dances and such. Access from the ground is via a teleporter. Well, our old TP system died finally with the TP panels going blank and not working for visitors, so I installed another system. The menu is in alphabetical order and all you do is click, select your location and click again. This should resolve the teleport issue, and thank you to those who made me aware of the issue. I just finished this build and while it was intended to be a sort of a temple it ended up being something that can be used for anything. It could be an archive, a library, a temple, a synagogue, a church, a shop, a warehouse, the possibilities are endless. I got so excited about the solid color spider mums that I couldn't resist and created tipped spider mums and they turned out quite nice I think. There are 4 different colors, red, lilac, pink and gold and they are full perm and free at the Create a Scene Garden Center here at the mall. They're right in front of the greenhouse. I don't make plants very often because, frankly, I'm not very good at it. However, I adore certain plants and so that becomes a driving force for me to create it in world. Well besides Gladiolus, Spider Mums are one of my favorite flowers, I find them stunningly beautiful. So, I decided to try my hand at making them as I've not seen them in Open Sim anywhere. In this picture you can see them all nice and planted and next to them is the box that has all 9 colors. This fun train was something I had created on the old grid under that avatar name, but I still have it and decided to put it out for folks to enjoy. It's a cute little train that would be adorable in any "park" or "playground" setting and it fits adults and kids a like. If you're region is a park or fun ride theme this little gem would work perfectly even if it does just have you going in circles (pun intended). We are constantly adding new stuff to our Mall region and today we are adding sculpted steps, roofs, pillars and columns. I found this beautiful maypole while out shopping one day and brought it home but it didn't work other than the rotation, so, I went to work and added pose ball scripts and some dances and now it works. I love spring time, even though we're heading into the end of summer because spring has such a promise of new life and fresh beginnings. This adorable little café named for a very dear friend is the perfect fit for just about any region that has a small town setting or an urban or suburban setting. It does not come furnished but can be if you want it to be buy just asking, though I find the decorating and setting it up to be the most fun. Effie's Kitchen Café is cute and quaint and delightful. To see it fully decked out and in use you can find it at my region called Lioness Den, but if you would like to pick one up for yourself, it's here at the Masala Al Kohav mall right behind our "Everything Music" department. I had forgotten I still had this beautiful huge Southern Victorian mansion. So I took it out of the mothballs and dusted it down and put it out. There is lots of space on the top floor to add rooms and there is a ladder that goes to the top of the roof; a full wrap around porch and a full basement, a huge kitchen and living room with a giant study and spiral stairs. Okay I think things are finally, at last, for the time being, hopefully rearranged to be more easily accessible for everyone at the Create A Scene Garden Center and in fact the entirety of the Masala Al Kohav Mall. There is so much going on here that at times it's a little hard to keep up with, but it's all good goings on!! Stop in and shop all day if you like. Visit all of our in house creator's shops like Ezra's Antiques and Collectables, Thor's Forge, Fall's For You (Animesh People) and my own "Lavia's Little Corner". We have a very wide assortment of items ranging from houses to plants and everything in between. We're working on building new stuff as well so that you have original content as well as items from around Open Sim. And don't forget to ask about our "Showcase Plateau" which allows folks to advertise their grid, region, or shop not just for a week or a month, but year round for free with an allowance of 1500 prims. When I got on line this evening and was working at the mall I noticed some of the drawers missing from the dresser, the nightstand and the vanity and I thought WOAH! Did I forget to add them to the set in the box?? but then I realized I had made a boo boo and forgot to reset the scripts after setting the display out not even thinking, of course people are going to test these things to see if they work right! So, my apologies to whomever tried them and experienced the disappearing act that moving objects can do if their scripts are not reset!! I have reset and adjusted them since so they will work correctly. Sooooo, shame faced me, my bad...it's fixed now. Blessings and much love, Lavia.

Another sleepless night produced this beautiful pyramid with a reflecting pool and Sphynx (which isn't my build but it worked perfectly). Inside there is a huge room and a kind of a mini palace compete with statues, floor lamp torches, pillars and thrones. It turned out better than I had hoped it would and I hope you will enjoy it and use it for your "ancient" or "Egyptian" build. It comes complete with trees and statues and is the perfect addition or center piece for any ancient or even sci fi fantasy build. You can find it here at the mall in our "Ancient Builds" department. OOoops I did it again, but this time it's a really good thing!! A complete Bedroom suite "The Rose Queen Bedroom Suite" is textured with fine cherry wood and rose carved draw fronts, door fronts and trim. You will find that all of the drawers and doors work but you'll have to add your own bed animations. There is a 6 drawer dresser with a mirror a full wardrobe, Bed with under bed storage drawers, a night stand and a vanity with mirror and vanity chair. It is full perm so you can retexture the sheet, blankets, pillows or any part that you want to change and modify. You can find it in our Livingroom and Bedroom department at the mall. Just use the Mall Shops Teleport System to get there. Something New in our Livingroom & Bedroom department at the mall. The Rose Nightstand is a beautiful little Nightstand or End Table of Oak wood and it has beautifully carved drawer fronts for that added panache to your décor.
