It's not the first time I can see such a weird behaviour on a large animesh, is there any size(or else) limitation to a rig that may cause this?

That looks like an animesh that is oriented in an axis different from the orientation of the animation. For example if the mesh is exported facing +X and the animation's rig or it's bone roll is +Y you may get that weird phenomena, if that's the case the size is irrelevant. Also, did you try to play any other animation to see if it pulsates like that?

I resized the skeleton in blender, and reuploaded a smaller version inworld, and it was fixed.
