Hi everyone. Generally, I can teleport across the Hypergrid without issues, but a problem has come up: I can't teleport, and I get the error "connection between the viewer and the destination could not be established." I've tried various solutions—reducing bandwidth, texture size, and draw distance, and even installing a VPN (which I don't like)—but none have worked. When I installed the VPN, it let me teleport, but upon arrival, only the ground would load and nothing else. Does anyone have any suggestions? Ty in advantage!

You will get tons of advise, from resetting your router, to clearing your cache, to deleting your Outfits, to standing on your head while reciting Poe. All of which may be good advise! Some quirks i have found. If this is isolated to one Region - You may have a problem with that Region. Ask the Grid Owner to check the server, or transfer that region to another server temporarily to check. Also I have found On HG-enabled OpenSim grids, local residents are incorrectly getting entries created in the hg_traveling_data table with GridExternalName pointing to their own grid's HG endpoint (e.g. http://hg.mygrid.com:8002/). This causes OpenSim to treat local residents as Hypergrid visitors to their own grid, resulting in serious user-facing issues. --- When a local resident has one of these stale records, they experience:
Avatar name displayed as HG visitor format — Firstname Lastname@mygrid.com:8002 instead of Firstname Lastname
Crashes on teleport — especially when attempting to reach their own region
Unable to reach own region — teleport fails entirely
Login issues — avatar cannot log in or appear properly
Semi-detachment from grid — avatar appears to partially disconnect after spending time in busy regions
Cannot send messages or use voice in some cases. ----- A Temporary workaround for this is to consult the person who works on your grid and have them Manually delete the stale records: Paste this in the Terminal:
DELETE FROM hg_traveling_data
WHERE GridExternalName LIKE '%yourgridname%';
his immediately resolves all symptoms for affected residents (after they log out and back in). However records re-accumulate within days, requiring regular cleanup.
So, depending on your Opensimulator Version, Your Viewer version, your Operation system, your brand of router, your flavor of fizzy drink you like, it could be a plethora of issues from A-Z. Since I didn't see any of your specs in your OP, we are all just assuming. Try them all!!!!

try turning your router on and off, turn it off wait 2 mins then turn it back on your router, restarting your computer as this clears any static build up, open CMD as a Admin, and type in ipconflig /flushdns and do that 3 times, that helps a lot

Could be a cache issue. If this is with Firestorm: Dee clean your cache. Opensim works different from SL here. For Secondlife, cleaning you cache is generally not advised. For Opensim, it's very needed on a regular basis, and even more often if you visit other grids (Hypergridding) a lot, play avatars on different grids, or use your viewer to access both SecondLife and Opensim. Here are the steps to do it right:
1. Go to Avatar – Preferences – and open the “Network and Files” tab. Click the “Directories” tab there.
2. You will see the text “cache location” and below that, a local file on your computer is specified. Usually something like this: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Firestorm_x64\
3. Next to the cache file location is a buton labelled “Open”. Click it, and it will open that folder on your hard disk.
4. Now log out of Firestorm but KEEP THE FOLDER OPEN on your hard disk.
5. Once Firestorm is fully logged out, select everything in the folder you just opened (click the first item, scroll down the list and click the last item while holding your SHIFT key, it will select the whole list)
6. Click your “delete” key.
7. Log back in with Firestorm
You will notice things rezz slower, at first. This is normal because your cache, where your computer saves all the textures etc. You have seen before in Opensim, is empty so it has to store them again.
8. BUT once everything around you IS rezzed.. your teleport, rezzing and avatar not rezzing problems will most likely be: solved!

try without attachments. check latency between your computer and destination grid. viewer has a fairly short timeout i think 30s.
