Welcome to Elysium Grid!
Elysium is a small, independent OpenSimulator-compatible grid, currently being developed and maintained by a single developer.
We're still at the beginning of the journey. Right now, there's a Welcome Region, a few freebies, and plenty of ideas waiting to become reality.
But behind the scenes, quite a bit is already happening! 😁
Welcome Region – A starting point for visitors and curious explorers.
Freebies – A small but growing collection of decorative items and creative content.
Hypergrid Access – Visitors from other compatible grids are welcome.
A Work in Progress – New things are being developed, tested, and improved along the way.
Elysium isn't running on a standard OpenSimulator installation. It's powered by a custom-developed simulator platform, built with compatibility, flexibility, and performance in mind.
Some of the features already implemented include:
Dynamic Regions – Regions can be created and brought online within seconds.
Live Region Migration – Regions can move between simulator hosts with minimal interruption.
Integrated Grid Management – Custom tools for managing regions, users, assets, and services.
Virtual Banking – An integrated virtual currency and banking system, still being expanded.
Improved Asset Handling – A redesigned texture and asset pipeline focused on efficiency.
There are also a few bigger projects in the works:
A Custom Elysium Viewer – Designed to take advantage of Elysium's own features while keeping compatibility with regular OpenSimulator grids.
Better Texture Streaming – A new KTX2-based texture system with server-side optimization and deduplication.
Expanded Land Services – Easier ways to create, manage, and use virtual land.
More Free Content – Additional decorations, objects, and other goodies.
More Places to Explore – New regions and experiences as the grid grows.
Expanded Virtual Economy – More features for the banking and currency system.
Elysium is a one-person hobby project, so development happens step by step.
There isn't a huge world to explore yet, and there's no established community. Some features are still experimental, and things might occasionally break.
But that's also part of the fun of building something new!
Whether you're curious about the technology, looking for a few freebies, or just want to see a new grid taking shape, you're welcome to stop by.
No big promises. No giant marketing campaign.
Just one developer, a growing project, and a lot of ideas.
Elysium Grid – Small Beginnings, Big Ideas!
