It's that time of the year again when OSFest is nearly ready to open the doors of a new grid to exhibitors, merchants, and sponsors to start placing their creations before the official opening on September 15th. I know I've been working on my new exhibit since mid July.
OSFest (OpensimFest) is a big event with tons of exhibits from multiple grids, including individual exhibitors, merchants, and artists, as well as educators and grid owners. Each year they create a grid just for the festival with multiple regions and tons of performers that lasts 2 weeks. At the end they have a large celebration just before the entire grid is taken down until the next year.
If you wish to participate as an exhibitor, performer, or merchant, please go here to register for a parcel: https://www.opensimfest.com then click Register on the top menu line. Once the grid opens you'll receive a parcel number by email.
OSFest sponsors are those who support the grid monetarily to help offset the server and technical costs of running a short-term grid. Their support ensures the grid is free to everyone. I had no trouble registering from the website and I joined the Discord server with no issues. I plan on being a volunteer for some hours and a Hostess for some time and helping out in any way I can. I thought about exhibiting, but I think I will leave that for others since I have never been involved in something like this and want to see what it is all about and experience the whole thing by helping as well as attending. Maybe next year I can do more and have an exhibit myself. (shrugs) Lily just keep trying. Maybe do a restart on your computer? Don't give up!!

After trying to set up a registration for an exhibit and a merchandise spot it said times up and booted me. BUT I am still excited to try and participate - hope that there will be an exception to the times up thing. =) Looks fun and I am looking forward to it.

We scheduled this year in order to avoid conflict with any major events we were aware of, but even then there is always something being added. We specifically avoided clashing with OSGrid's birthday festival this summer, HIE in October, and the OSCC Conference later in the Fall. We only became aware of OSGrid's auction for late September after we had already published our schedule.

It's confusing b/c they host the opensimulator festival and osgrid festival at the same time, confusing many people. By doing this, each festival insures only half the traffic will come, only half the creators will present their creations, and lots of empty unfilled lots will be left at each festival. That's stupid.
