Yes it is very sad that they are like this... Everytime I read it, it makes me sing a song... "O sad is the world...." I'm sure you know it. But I digress.

Because OSGrid is fundamentally a test grid for OpenSimulator software I would guess that it sees far more changes than any other grid in the metaverse, as well as that since the inception of OpenSimulator OSGrid has been the most consistent, if not always the most stable. As a result, OSGrid had become the main grid for OpenSimulator and for many not familiar with our metaverse, OSGrid has become synonymous with Opensim. There are probably many thousands of accounts where the individuals logged in once or twice in the very early days and decided that it just wasn't ready for everyday use - I did exactly that with my first avatar, which I forgot about for 18 months - I vaguely remember logging in to OSGrid and finding it empty. With all databases, a lot of crud builds up over time. Anyone who runs their own standalone will quickly become aware that each avatar that visits leaves behind no only the fact that they've visited, but also references to every asset in their inventory, (but not access, as only My Suitcase is accessible on 'foreign' grids) I dare say those responsible for the administration of OSGrid would agree that management of the asset service of OSGrid hasn't always been as good as it should have been and the various issues the asset service has faced over the years won't have helped, as well as the sheer volume of data held on the asset servers, much of it old and probably not accessed for years. I have items in my inventory that I haven't accessed for over a decade, and I'm unlikely to ever access again. Those of us who have consistently made IARs of our inventories will have maintained them in as pristine a state as possible. As a tip, anyone can make an IAR backup simply by running an instance of Opensim connected to OSGrid. You don't even need to be able to teleport there, so there is none of the worry of getting things like NAT Loopback working or even sorting out a domain - all you need to do is find a location on the Grid Map to run your region and then type the incantation to save an IAR in the console and then wait a long while, especially as right now, when there are many others doing the same thing. If you have been in OSGrid like I have, and have a sizeable inventory, expect it to take at least a couple of days to download - it will do it, but it takes time.

They are angry about something, and it might be better to let them vent instead of building up like a pressure cooker. When I see posts like that, I just skip over them, because all I see is "Angry" and there is nothing I can do about that. I hope they find peace.
