If you create in OpenSim, there is a resource worth bookmarking: Fred Beckhusen’s Outworldz Creator resources.

It is one of those places where you can arrive looking for one texture and an hour later realize you’ve found enough material for three completely different projects. 😊

Outworldz has collected and preserved an enormous library of resources for virtual-world creators, including:

• Creative Commons seamless textures
• Thousands of mesh, sculpt and 3D resources
• 1,000+ free LSL scripts
• Avatars and avatar components
• Animations and sounds
• OARs and IARs
• Building kits, objects and project files
• Tools, tutorials and other creator resources

One particularly valuable collection is the work of Linda Kellie, whose creations were generously made available to the community. Outworldz preserves a huge selection of her textures and other resources so creators can continue putting them to use. The seamless texture library alone includes hundreds of Linda Kellie materials, including fabrics, stone, tile, glass and building surfaces.

And it goes far beyond textures. The Outworldz 3D library currently contains more than 1,800 downloadable entries, including mesh, DAE/OBJ files, animations, sounds, OARs, IARs and complete resource packs.

The script library contains more than 1,000 open-source, copyleft and public-domain LSL scripts, searchable by category and creator.

This isn't simply a pile of freebies. It's a creator's toolbox and an archive of work contributed by people who helped build our virtual-world community. Fred has put an extraordinary amount of work into collecting, organizing, converting and keeping these resources accessible.

Before deciding you don't have what you need for your next project, take a look through Outworldz. Chances are Fred has already tucked something useful into the toolbox.

Create something. Experiment. Learn something new. Then build something wonderful with it.

Fred thank you very much for everything you give to the community, I have learned so much using your portal. YOU totally rock!
