There has been a lot of speculation going around about what Littlefield plans to do based on the current OSGrid situation. Well, the cat is out of the bag - We are back! The grid is up and running, we have all the public regions moved over and we are finishing up moving all the residents rented regions this week. Account creation is active so anyone that is interested in joining, please feel free! We will be renting land just as we always have, but we have about 250 public regions for fun, free shopping, as well as dances, live music etc.. Please bear with us, we are 90% where we want to be and we are moving very quickly. We have a new portal, all new very powerful servers in a secure datacenter, and we should have everything at 100% by the end of next week. A word of note - this is no reflection on OSGrid or their management staff. All of them do a thankless job, and it's sad to see that someone would attack them like this. We simply felt that after the original move to OSGrid, and then the wipe of OSG recently, we couldn't put our community through that again, and it was time to start up again. We were around 14 years, and we hope to be around another 14!

Over time, life changed, and so did the name. Nyla Veyne became a new chapter in the same journey, bringing fresh inspiration to Solmara, with its sun-kissed shores, and Oasis of Veils, where music, mystery, and dance come together.

These worlds were never meant to be grand achievements. They were simply places created from the heart, where people could wander, find a little peace, enjoy music, or perhaps feel at home for a while.

Yana and Nyla may carry different names, but behind them lives the same imagination, the same love for creating, and the quiet belief that even in a virtual world, something beautiful can feel very real.

Making AI images is fun, but at what cost?

We’ve all seen the funny, beautiful, and creative pictures generated by AI. But have you ever stopped to think about the environmental cost of creating them? I see them on this website daily! I have made hundreds of Ai images!

But, did you know? Every AI-generated image requires computing power. That means electricity, water to help cool data centers, and powerful computer equipment that requires mining and manufacturing.

And every time we ask AI to create a picture, fix a mistake, or generate another version, we use even more resources.

One image may not seem like much, but multiply that by millions of people generating millions of images every day.

More energy consumption. More water demand. More carbon emissions. More electronic waste.

We talk about protecting our planet, reducing waste, and conserving natural resources. Yet we're embracing a technology without always considering its environmental footprint.

I'm not saying AI doesn't have valuable uses. It absolutely does. But do we really need to generate endless pictures just because we can?

Making AI images is fun. But is the environmental cost worth it?

Something to think about before clicking "generate" again.

A Python project I started working on this morning. An automatic marine life and boat route creator. You tell it where you want to go, and boom! It makes a nice route for your script to use, and a jpeg grid map snippet, for your viewing pleasure!

I'm kind of blown away that it finds it's way through all the narrow rivers and channels. This is pretty specific to GroovyVerse, because it uses our terrain height maps that are saved during our daily backup regimen. We will have a lot of automated boats and pods of dolphins and humpback whales wandering the grid at their own whimsy. lol

4 Fun and Active Years of the Dinkies!

On 2nd November, we will celebrate five wonderful years since the Dinkies came to life in OpenSim at the Funsize Dinkies World Resort!

What an amazing journey it has been so far! Four years filled with fun, laughter, friendship, adventures, and so many beautiful memories. And, of course, many more wonderful years are still to come!

As most of you know, the Dinkies Resort has moved a couple of times over these past four years, always searching for the perfect place to call home.

And now, the Funsize Dinkies have finally found their special home on LinkUp Grid, where many Dinkies have already been enjoying their wonderful lives since the grid first opened.

We are so happy to see our little community continue to grow, welcome new faces, make new friends, and create even more unforgettable memories together.

Bring the elegance of a Regency assembly ball to your region. Ladies wear
a dainty dance card on the wrist, gentlemen carry a Pocket Program (HUD),
and an Assembly Rooms Board in the ballroom keeps the whole evening in
order - the programme of dances, who has engaged whom, and every rule of
proper ballroom etiquette.

Gentlemen touch a lady's wrist card to request a specific dance. The lady
receives a polite request and may Accept or Decline. The Master of
Ceremonies calls each dance from the board, announces the couples, and
privately reminds every dancer of their partner.

We have a new mapping system that's standalone. turning off map generation in opensim.ini and the new system runs outside of opensim and uses SixLabors.ImageSharp. This solves some GC issues i've noticed doesn't torque the opensim region server.

it's a relief map with height better represented than warp. here's a comparison. note that the region in the warp3d map is actually mostly grass not sand so warp3d is off a bit i suppose?

Vehicle couplings on Wolf Territories: trailers, caravans and trains that really hitch up.

Trailers and caravans on Wolf Territories are now joined to their vehicle by a real physics joint in the region's physics engine (ubODE and BulletSim both), not a script chasing the truck. The trailer swings, tracks round corners and is pulled like the real thing.

How it works
- The front vehicle (truck, car, locomotive) gives itself a coupler key and names its hitch points: a fifth wheel, a tow ball, a coupler hook.
- The rear (trailer, caravan, carriage) asks to attach to that key at that point. Back the truck up to the trailer and it couples once the hitch points are within reach (3 m by default).
- The coupling is saved in the object and comes back after a region restart, after editing, and across region crossings, until you detach.
- It uses your own key name, not a UUID, so it survives take and rez. Only vehicles with the same owner couple, so your key never clashes with anyone else's.

Joint types: WOLF_JOINT_BALL (tow ball, caravans), WOLF_JOINT_FIFTHWHEEL (articulated lorries),

Status: WOLF_ATTACH_NONE, WAITING, COUPLED, BROKEN. Pull a pair too far apart and it breaks away.

Houses & Buildings is a region created by Gentle Dragonheart and Safine Mahoe that has 7 different levels offering: Houses, Tiki, Medieval, Commercial, Fantasy, Vintage Houses 2. The houses will receive a special Green check mark on the sales poster once they are checked and verified that all is working correctly. Feel free to buy any, but know the green check mark means everything has been fixed.

Dublin, including the airport and docks, is in our Wolf Nation region. (Ireland, basically). 400x400 region. On SL, this region would be about $7.9 million per month; this one region is bigger than SL's total land area.
