It is a sonic tribute to those pioneers who not only shaped electronic music but also laid its foundations.
FRONT 242 have always had a vision of the future. Over the course of more than 40 years, they have shown us what is possible through the use of technology, human imagination, and creativity—utilizing instruments far beyond their intended purpose. FRONT 242 consistently embraced the latest available technologies to keep their music fresh, groundbreaking, and contemporary, all while ceaselessly pushing their sound to the limits of what is logically possible.
In the 1980s, Front 242 strived to project a visual mystery and anonymity to accompany their aggressive physical stage performances. The band's ethic is largely responsible for defining the rivethead style of industrial and EBM culture which included the wearing of military gear, such as flak jackets, camouflage, and combat boots, as well as hairstyles, sunglasses, accessories, tattoos, and piercings. Front 242 have consistently distanced themselves from far-right ideology. Their use of totalitarian and military imagery was intended to provoke and critique society, not to propagate a political ideology.

Die Haltung der Band prägte maßgeblich den „Rivethead“-Stil der Industrial- und EBM-Kultur, der sich durch das Tragen militärischer Ausrüstung – etwa Splitterschutzwesten, Tarnkleidung und Kampfstiefel – sowie durch spezifische Frisuren, Sonnenbrillen, Accessoires, Tattoos und Piercings auszeichnete. Front 242 haben sich stets von rechtsextremem Gedankengut distanziert. Ihr Spiel mit totalitären und militärischen Symbolen diente der Provokation und Gesellschaftskritik, nicht der Verbreitung einer politischen Ideologie.
