I have been watching the Frontier series on Netflix. It is about Canada in the 1700's. My favorite character is Sokanon, and I think I have her look going on there. :)

My Mémère never talked about it, which is common for older people. There was (and still is) a lot of racism. I think that she was ashamed that she looked native. :( I did not know, so I did not see it then. I wish I could tell her she was beautiful and I am proud of her and our heritage.
