Profile Picks
I've looked but cant find anything - so appolagies in advance if I've missed it.
I've recently noticed that profile picks are not working for me on Firestorm. They do work fine in SL just not in OS. It's not just my regions on my grid - but this is the case everywhere.
I've tried Singularity and they work fine on that - I can create profile picks and see others, but when I go back to firestorm I cant create or see them (just have a spinning cursor).
Like I say its not my grid - I've tried going logging directly into osgrid and have exactly the same issue. I've uninstalled and removed everything related to firestorm and reinstalled - same issue.
I've even tried on a different laptop - same issue.
Anyone any clue? Do profile picks just not work on the OS Firestorm anymore? (I would be very surprised if thats the case).

Profile Picks work. But user interface is absolute missunderstanded however you understand it, it's wrong. Small Save button if you not click in right moment cannot save?! After every new pick better restart firestorm or chance to write over some of old picks is 50/50...
Function profile picks on OpenSim server work. User interface in Firestorm......... work for "stahl peoples".
Are is usable? If you have 10-15min for every new profile pick, then yes work:)

Hi Pagane, thanks for your reply :) However as has been said before and reported as bugs by Jupitor and Austin. It seems to be related to the latest Firestorm viewer an OpenSim 0.9.2.1+. When it doesn't work - its not a case of it not saving the picks but a case of the picks page not loading. You dont even get the option to press the "new pick" button - its disabled until the tab loads (and it wont load).
Apparently its am accepted bug that has a hopeful fix in the next version of Firestorm.
It works find in Singularity.

Hi Pagane, It's not related to the grid (well it maybe related to OpenSim server version in addition to the viewer version) - but it is a known bug in the latest firestorm 6.6.8 (68380) (windows at least). Profile picks work fine for me in multiple places using singularity viewer. Its only the latest Firestorm that doesn't.
I've just gone to your grid - and its exactly the same as expected. Thanks for the comment though. To be honest - I am rather glad it DIDN'T work when I went to your grid - as that would mean the issue is totally different! As it is - its a bug that is being worked on and should be fixed. If it works for you - then maybe you are using an older version of OpenSim or older version of Firestorm. Just suggestions - but either way. It seems it doesn't work for most people at the moment.

Last FS viewer profile works on regions using the 0.9.1.1. At (now tested) 0.9.2.1 it does not. So this looks as a problem also with OS versions. At OSG they test new OS software. So maybe that is solved in this version. But if FS can solve that to newer versions (0.9.2.x), the better

I'm not having problems with any other parts of profiles (that I am bothered about anyway). Profile pic and text work fine - its just My Picks that is an issue for me - but seems a fix is on the way so thats good :)

Right so. And it was so good you posted that here about that problem, so people could work on it. I seldom look into my own profile :-) Your post was a great help for all. BTW: I downgraded to FS 6.5.6 now, because latest 6.6. seems to be a hard thing for my graphic card, even at a gamer. The fan spins like hell. Plus.. my grid admin altered the profile module in grid common.ini. Now I can use my profile (incl. the picks) as it was before.

I can tell that in OSG the PFP works as it should, furthermore you can either set a square pic or a 4:3 aspect ratio and the current Fs will show it properly, this works in the second and first life tabs.
What do you mean with "not working"? after drag and drop the pic and press OK the pic doesn't show?

OSgrid seems to be the only one where the PFP works, but then again, it's pretty bleeding-edge.
4:3 for 2nd Life profile pics is correct. Pics for picks have a ratio of 16:9 (I recommend cutting them 16:9 and then resizing them to 2:1).

Just checked and it is a known bug with the latest Firestorm viewer. Good news is they have a fix so hopefully things will be back to working on the next release! https://jira.firestormviewer.org/browse/FIRE-32626

Yeah, Austin and I have both filed bug reports. Good thing they could fix it by partially reverting a change in the latest version.
I hope we'll soon see whether the fix works as expected.

Thanks so much for your reply. That does make sense - I was sure they worked before (on older Firestorm viewers). Interestingly it only seems to be the latest OS view - the SL viewer works fine with SL.
Now I know it's not just me - and is likely to be fixed next version I'm happy. Thanks again :)
