migration begins! after about a year of running we're making some changes to assetd server. originally it stored assets in ipfs and kept local zstd compressed files on each region server. this burned up alot of drive space and 10 years down the road just isn't sustainable. So I'm getting rid of ipfs and storing all assets in s3 bucket. assetd pulls the assets on request, fixes broken ones if needed. with squid cache between assetd and opensim things are much faster. squid keeps current assets in ram for fast loading and stores less active assets in an optimized file structure. we can adjust the levels to increase ram and drive cache. i'm currently moving 2,583,234 assets into s3 bucket. after that's complete we just need to restart the grid, shouldn't be any downtime during the transfer though. on dev server assets load super fast. so we hope to have a better experience on holoneon grid in the next few days.

Fleetwood – New Water Route and Redesigned Monorail Track

There are once again some new changes to discover on Fleetwood.

The water route to the Fleetwood sim, located right next to Fleetwood Beach, has been completely redesigned to make it more beautiful and varied. Instead of simply travelling along a plain waterway, visitors can now follow a much more romantic and natural-looking river course by boat.

The route winds its way between rocks, past lush vegetation and many small scenic details that make the journey feel much more atmospheric. The idea was to turn the boat trip itself into a relaxing little experience, giving visitors the chance to enjoy the surroundings at their own pace. With the rock formations and greenery along the river, the whole waterway now feels more enclosed, natural and immersive.

The Monorail route has also been significantly redesigned and made much more interesting.

The train no longer travels only through open landscape. Parts of the route now lead directly between large rock formations, making the journey feel narrower, more dramatic and much more varied than before.

One of the highlights is a new section where the Monorail even passes through a rock tunnel. Together with the surrounding cliffs and rocky passages, the route now feels more like a small mountain railway than a simple sightseeing ride.

Visitors who already know Fleetwood will immediately notice the changes. Both the new water route and the redesigned Monorail track are intended to encourage people not only to visit the sim, but also to explore it in different ways.

So: take a boat and follow the river, or hop on the Monorail and simply enjoy the ride.

Fleetwood is located right next to Fleetwood Beach.

A little more magic has been added to Tumbletwig — A Magical Frog Fairy World. The newest addition is this enchanted Frog Fairy Fountain, with dancing water jets surrounding its tiny winged guardian.

Tumbletwig is being prepared as a complete downloadable OAR exclusively for DreamGrid users. DreamGridders will be able to bring the world into their own grids and explore all of its treehouses, winding paths, ponds, gardens, hidden places and whimsical details.

I’m still adding those final touches before Tumbletwig makes its way into DreamGrid — and this fountain found exactly where it belongs. 🐸

Wenn die Sonne sich in den Glasfassaden spiegelt und die Stadt langsam in Gold getaucht wird, weiß man: Jetzt wird’s gefährlich – modisch gefährlich. Vier Looks, vier Launen, und jede davon bereit, die Nacht zu erobern, als wäre sie ein persönlicher Laufsteg mit Happy Hour. Die eine flirtet mit Schulmädchen‑Charme, die andere trägt Dunkelblau wie eine Kampfansage an die Routine. Und irgendwo zwischen pinkem Zuckerwatte‑Mut und sportlicher Coolness steht das stille Versprechen: Heute wird keiner früh schlafen gehen.

Man könnte meinen, sie hätten sich abgesprochen – aber nein, das Chaos ist Absicht. Jede Farbe schreit „Ich zuerst!“, jede Pose sagt „Ich weiß genau, was ich tue!“ (auch wenn das nicht stimmt). Zwischen goldenen Kleidern, High Heels und Handtaschen mit Ketten liegt die Wahrheit: Stil ist kein Konzept, sondern ein Zustand. Und wer ihn erreicht, darf sich ruhig mal selbst applaudieren – vorzugsweise mit einem Glas Champagner in der Hand.

Land Of Xzar Is Closed Until Further Notice. We are expanding it into a new attached region to cut any lag that could be experienced. Twice as big, with little added is the goal. Drew and I are working hard on the grid to bring new experiences. Exciting times ahead!!

Wenn Mode reden könnte, würde sie hier vermutlich sagen: „Ich bin nicht hier, um mich anzupassen – ich bin hier, um die Schaufenster zu dominieren.“ Zwischen lässigem Streetstyle und „Ich hab’s mit Absicht übertrieben“ ist alles dabei. Die Shoppingmeile sieht aus, als hätte sie gerade beschlossen, dass Jogginghosen und Glamourkleider dieselbe Daseinsberechtigung haben – und ehrlich gesagt, sie hat recht.

Die vier Damen wirken, als hätten sie sich abgesprochen, um sämtliche Stilregeln gleichzeitig zu brechen. Von „Ich geh nur kurz Milch holen“ bis „Ich bin der Grund, warum du stehen bleibst“ ist alles vertreten. Wenn das hier ein Casting wäre, hätte die Modejury längst aufgegeben und einfach applaudiert.
