For the last 3 weeks, I have dealt with a intermittent issue on my grid that has about driven me nuts. I have tested, and eliminated possibilities …..without luck.
Yesterday two of the largest grid owners in open sim, Lone Wolf from Wolf Territories and Josh Boam from Aviworlds, took time from their busy schedules to help finally fix this issue. In addition , Rafael from Wolf Territories assisted. I cannot say thanks enough!
Although I work with Josh’s hosting business, this involved much more. Josh would not give up and recruited Lone Wolf.
In my opinion, maybe this is what opensim was designed to be: sharing of knowledge and helping each other.
Lone Wolf and Josh did not have to give up their time to help a tiny grid…..but they did!
Maybe we can all learn from these individuals!

FYI. The default setting of 2 threadsets can cause major headaches depending on your region….it is way too low in some cases. You all probably know that…but I learned.

Safine is so smart and quick to learn, so if she was having an issue, it was a very REAL issue! Thank you to those who helped her, you are wonderful. To those who choose this gracious display of appreciation to troll and make nasty comments, go away trolls. You know who you are. You are usually busy in "The Box". No one wants it here, there, or anywhere.

This is how it used to be where one could quickly and easily find others to help out with the software to get things up and running or issues resolved if there was a bug. We used to sit in Lbsa Plaza and help new people get their own region or grid up and running and was often the main topic of conversation. When the mesh content came the conversations turned to copybot and then eventually to nothing at all and nowadays I rarely hear of anyone trying to get a sim or grid running though maybe DreamGrid made a lot of that unnecessary. It is nice to hear someone was helped but a bit of strange for some of us older ones as it used to be the norm and not something that required its own thread. How times have changed.

LOVE this! So glad you were able to get the help you needed to resolve your issues. THIS is what community is all about. We all come from many different grids(from all over the planet), and some of us are on the same grids, but being in Open Sim gives us all a unique opportunity to have the common goal of building a strong community of collaboration, helpfulness, and support of each other's goals and most important of all, establishing life-long friendships. I am not formally friends with most of the people on this site or Inworld, and yet I feel a strong bond of friendship with each of you that I encounter regularly, here, there, and everywhere. Thanks for that and thank you Safine for sharing such wonderful and positive news. So happy your grid is fixed! WTG Lone Wolf and Josh and Rafael!
