What am I looking for? Information about how friending works in Open Sim, and what techniques some of you use.
I am new to OS, but not to virtual life. I have noticed that if I friend someone who is a member of the same grid as me, they will remain in my friends list. If I friend someone who is a member of a different grid, it is likely they do not appear in my friends list.
So how do you get around this?
Do you have a workaround? I am assuming they must have evolved over time.
Or am I missing something simple?
Maybe people just friend those from their own grid? lol
Anyhow... all information, advice and thoughts on this subject most welcome.
And for the record... I do consult with my favourite Chatbots before asking questions in here, but whilst they were aware of the difficulties, they could not find satisfactory resolutions in the various forums etc that they searched.

OK, I really am a doofus. The problem: I own a TON of .dae files I purchased in SL, and a whole bunch of them have permissions to share them on other grids, as well. So, I've been trying to upload them to Opensim. In Firestorm, I go to "build", then "upload", then "mesh model" and I select the file from mij harddisk. "Open", set LOD to "low" and pick "calculate weights and fees". There is... a really long time that goes by, like 15 minutes or half an hour even. And then, a popup: "(item name) failed to upload: missing physics_convex block". What am I doing wrong?

Search for freckles. And real freckles, not just a few barely visible ones. I actually have what I'm looking for, but the skin also has a tattoo covering half my body, which I don't like. Also, when I tried to edit a skin with the texture and add more freckles, it failed because the skin suddenly had holes in it.

Hello helpful people :) I am looking for.. well.. everything! haha. let me explain. I am building a copy of Monaco City and there will be a nice mall there for freebies shopping. Basically, the same freebies that are shared everywhere, but I hope to generate a better lay out, sorted by type, etc. The focus will be on "everything for your avatar" so clothing, bodies, hair, skins etc. both male and female. What I find though is that every place I find the clothes, bodies, skins, AO's etc. full perm offers them as 'sell contents" so i get a folder with the items. But I want them boxed, with the image on the box, the way they are displayed in all those stores that have them. Any ideas where I can find fullperm copies of the boxed items? I would so love to create a lovely mall but having to take pictures of every item myself is a ton of work plus they're clearly already available in Opensim. Your help would be very much appreciated!
