I see three groups:
1. I'm not interested in any of this, I want to have fun after work, that's all.

3. Actually, we have the same ethical and political views as Dorena, but it's more important to us to play with everyone here in the sandbox, we don't care about our ideals and leave them at home.

OK, I don't really think it's a good idea, but playing together in the same sandbox every now and then, why not.

To 2.
Stay away from me, I see a real threat in you. Nothing will change between us anyway, you stay as you are, I stay as I am, leave me alone!

To 3.
I'm not sure whether I should find her behavior pathetic or sad. On a human level, her behavior really affects me and is a bit of a burden.

Nun mal zur "Keine Politik in OpenSim" Fraktion.
Ich sehe da drei Gruppen:
1. Mich interessiert das alles nicht, will nach Feierabend meinen Spaß, mehr nicht.
2. AFD und Co haben recht, nerve uns nicht mit deinen linken Ansichten, sonst...
3. Eigentlich sind wir ja auch ethisch, politisch ähnlich eingestellt wie Dorena, aber uns ist es wichtiger, mit allen Leuten hier in der Sandkiste zu spielen, unsere Ideale, auf die pfeifen wir und lassen sie zu Hause.

Zu1.
ok, finde ich nicht wirklich gut, aber hin und wieder in der gleichen Sandkiste gemeinsam spielen, warum nicht.

Zu 2.
Bleibt mir vom Leib, in euch sehe ich eine reale Bedrohung. Zwischen uns wird sich eh nichts ändern, ihr bleibt, wie ihr seid, ich wie ich, lasst mich in Ruhe!

Zu 3.
Bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich ihr Verhalten nun erbärmlich oder traurig finden soll. Menschlich geht mir ihr Verhalten sehr nah und belastet mich auch etwas.

Allen drei Gruppen sage ich jetzt, für mich abschließend, macht euer Ding, aber lasst mich/uns unseres machen.
Es gibt für euch immer die Möglichkeit, uns zu ignorieren.

Live and let live doesn't seem to be the philosophy in this community. When I made an ironic comment that I might soon be getting death threats, the only response I got was "Then take care of yourself, Dorena." After I've shared these words with you, I'm leaving the OSV group on Facebook.

Wenn du ein "Event gegen Rechts" machen möchtest, ist das okay. Wenn Leute das toll finden und sich aktiv einbringen, ist das okay. Wenn sich andere damit nicht identifizieren und nicht an deinem Event teilnehmen möchten, ist das okay. Und wenn Admins in anderen Foren keine politischen Statements und Diskussionen bei sich in der Gruppe haben wollen, weil es dort sinngemäß auch gar nicht hinpasst, ist das okay!

Es ist traurig genug, dass auf OSW kaum jemals ein Admin die Notbremse zieht und sinnfreie Diskussionen, die am Ende sowieso nur noch eine Ansammlung gegenseitiger Beleidigungen sind, abblockt. Aber jeder andere, der vermeiden möchte, dass in seiner Gruppe Themen diskutiert werden, die zum einen gar nicht zum Sinn der Gruppe gehören und zum anderen von vornherein ein sehr hohes Potential für gegenseitige Angriffe und Beleidigungen bergen, hat meinen Respekt für sein frühzeitiges Intervenieren!

Das "Event gegen Rechts" ist - wie deine ständigen KI- Posts auch - nur Mittel zum Zweck, die Kunstfigur Dorena in den Mittelpunkt zu schieben - zum Sammeln von aufrichtigen "Likes" oder "Mitleids - "Likes" von Leuten, die glauben dir beistehen zu müssen, weil mal wieder ein paar Nutzer von dir provoziert gefühlt haben deswegen wie die Hyänen über dich hergefallen sind. Traurig ist, dass du diese Reaktionen jedes mal selbst herauf beschwörst, aber offensichtlich machst du das ja absichtlich, weil du im Falle von Gegenwind sofort in die Rolle des armen Opferlammes schlüpfst um dich abschließend von deinen "Anhängern" für die Gemeinheiten der anderen bedauern zu lassen...

Im Gegensatz zu allem, was okay ist - dieses Verhalten ist es absolut nicht!!! Es bringt Unruhe in eine Welt, die eigentlich als Freizeitgestaltung gedacht ist: zum Spaß haben, nettem Gedankenaustausch, gegenseitige Inspiration und auch die eine oder andere Hilfestellung.

Also hör endlich mit deiner öffentlichen Theatralik auf und verschone die Leute von deinem Anprangern anderer (namenloser, aber doch vielen bekannter) Personen hier auf OSW! Du bist Admin eines eigenen Forums und eines eigenen Grids - dort kannst du 24/7 deine Meinung kund tun und dich anschließend über das Verhalten anderer Leute aufregen, wenn du das unbedingt brauchst.

Das einzige Sinnvolle, das man aktiv gegen Rechts tun kann, ist, in seinem Heimatland zur Wahl zu gehen und dort seine Stimme gegen die rechten Parteien einzusetzen. Alles andere ist lediglich Effekthascherei...

Es macht sich bereits eine ziemlich dicke Front gegen uns auf.
Ich werde mich auf das Berichten der Ereignisse beschränken, aber keine Namen nennen.
Gestern postete ich folgende Bilder in einer Facebookgruppe, welche ein Filmfestival als Grundthema hat.

danach bekam ich inworld eine Anfrage der Gruppenownerin, ob das nicht arg provokativ sei. Mir ging es allerdings eher darum, die Technik, die ich verwendet habe zu präsentieren. Na gut, ich machte ihr den Vorschlag, wenn sie meint, das würde sie in Schwierigkeiten bringen, ok,..dann entferne ich den post eben wieder. Sie meinte daraufhin zu mir, ich solle es mal stehen lassen, das würde ein blödes Bild abgeben dann.

Keine 10 Min später kam da schon der erste Hassthread gegen mich, ich solle mit der beschissenen Politik aufhören, OpenSim wäre ja nur zum Spaß haben da und ich wäre sowas wie eine lästige Schmeißfliege.
Zeitgleich bekam ich eine IM der Gruppenownerin, ich hätte ihr nun ernste Probleme bereitet, da sie schon etliche IMs bekam, dass sie meinen Beitrag entfernen solle. Da die IMs eben von Leuten aus ihrem Kreis kamen, hat sie wohl abgewägt, wie ich denke, dem auch nachzukommen. Der Beitrag wurde gelöscht.
Fähnchen in Wind, so sehe ich das. Ich verließ die Gruppenmitgliedschaft daraufhin und entfernte auch alle anderen Beiträge von mir dort. Sie schrieb daraufhin eine Stellungnahme, dass Politik dort nichts zu suchen hat und sie nichts mit der radikalen Antifa zu tun haben will.

Heute Morgen teilte sie mir mit, dass sie jetzt alle Kontakte zu mir abbrechen wird.
Ah, und eben lese ich, dass einer von denen am 15.02.2025 ein dicke Inworldfete schmeißt, mit mehreren DJs, die garantiert frei von Politik wird. Mir war eh klar, dass er einer der Verfasser der Beschwerdenachrichten an die Gruppenownerin war, ich gehe einfach mal davon aus.
Fazit, eine langjährige Freundin verloren und mit der Frage im Kopf,..ist es denn wirklich so falsch, was wir da organisiert haben?

Not even 10 minutes later, the first hate thread against me appeared, saying that I should stop with the shitty politics, that OpenSim was only there for fun and that I was something like an annoying blowfly.
At the same time, I received an IM from the group owner, saying that I had caused her serious problems, as she had already received several IMs asking her to remove my post. Since the IMs came from people in her circle, she must have considered whether I should comply with them. The post was deleted.
Flag in the wind, that's how I see it. I then left the group membership and also removed all of my other posts there. She then wrote a statement saying that politics has no place there and that she wants nothing to do with the radical Antifa.

This morning she told me that she will now break off all contact with me.
Ah, and I just read that one of them is throwing a big inworld party on February 15, 2025, with several DJs, which will definitely be free of politics. It was clear to me that he was one of the authors of the complaint messages to the group owner, I'm just assuming that.
Conclusion: I've lost a long-time friend and the question in my head is, is what we organized really so wrong?

It's pretty obvious to me what's happening here.

First of all, there are those who'd love to return to the 1950s when one could be as openly racist, classist, sexist, xenophobic and social-Darwinist as one wanted to be. The good ol' days when not being cis was a mental illness and not being straight was a crime. They're conservative and proud of it, but actually backwards-oriented. Deeply right-wing, but in denial of that because they consider themselves apolitical.

In fact, they'd probably love to see democracy as a whole abolished so they wouldn't have to drag their arses to some stupid elections every couple years, just to put their crosses in the same place as in the last decades, in the same place as their parents and grandparents. Everything to the left of themselves is highly suspicious, not to mention that it goes on their nerves and against their ideals of what the world (the part of the world that they observe anyway) should be like.

They're joined by unabashedly right-wing extremists and fascists who'd love to return to 1938. Who want to take these matters into their own hands. Who present what they and the conservatives perceive as the "left wing" as dangerous and even violent. Who are eager to fight that "left wing" in any way they can. And who inspire the conservatives to do the same. Of course, the conservatives don't recognise outright fascists unless the latter wave swastika flags. Instead, they take these fascists for every bit as "non-political" as they themselves think they are.

And before you know it, you have a joint anti-anti-fascist front from which emerge things from allegedly non-political counter-events to implied death threats. And I'm not kidding a bit about the latter.

By the way: During the Reichspogromnacht in 1938, many of those who had voted Centrist applauded to the fascists, cheered for the fascists, even joined in themselves. But I guess that was "non-political", too.

P.S.: Any attempts at active sabotage against this event are not non-political. They're not "removing politics from OpenSim" or however you'll try to gaslight it. They're very much political. Because they're direct and open support of fascism.

Cheryl, I am going to tell you that you have offended many of us at WT. There are so many building projects going on. I have 50 regions, including a 5x5, a 6x6, and a 10x10. Many of them are built out or in progress. I have many I am not building out. They will be left as water, or maybe I will create underwater regions. I haven't decided.

Contessa LaCombe, Indigo Moon, and Savannah Joy have multiple regions with many many lovely projects. Everyone helps each other when requested. Wolf Welcome is a GRID SPONSORED space. Jimmy has been selected to work on it. He is amazing, a true artist, and a workhorse. He is NOT the only one working on things.

WT is also designed to have MANY MANY empty regions. And it is all connected - by WATER. And deliberately so! You can pretty much boat the entire grid! It takes days! And it is purposefully made that way. We do not want our grid to look like Second Life mainland, where you have to pay your neighbor to take down something ugly because that is how they make money. If you have a project in mind that benefits the grid, put together a team and talk to Lone. And you are always welcome to put together a team and build on your own region(s). We promote freedom of choice here.

Finally, what Dorena is doing is COMPLETELY RELEVANT to OS! It is an OS event! If you don't like the content, and it is not illegal (like child pron), MOVE ALONG! For many of us, this is a critical event, as we are in it and face the horrors and uncertainty being thrown at us every day, as well as seeing it harm other countries and knowing what is coming if things don't stop.

Something more constructive:
Opensim is a small community of VR enthusiasts who are mostly builders. Everyone is so busy building things out of nothing. Of course, everyone has different skills. Not everyone is script coder. Not everyone is building mesh in blender. I can plant trees on my sim e.g. Everyone enjoys to get something created in his own world. But what if we would work together for a biiig project?
Everyone throws his skills in one big project and learn from each other. And believe, me there is much to learn. When I came from SL all was magic for me. Now I learned so much that people ask me how to do things. Me! The tech blond few years ago.
We have all different political and religious opinions. But nevertheless we all could work together on a big project. This was always the spirit of open source communities. And we are open source fully.
I would like to suggest a biiiiig project that is starting and could be really something to be proud of for the whole community. Lonewolf has the biggest grid in opensim that is even bigger than Secondlife. All sims are connected and can sail around on whole grid. But the sims are mostly empty. Just grass and mountains. So it is like on the moon. There is nothing. But there are partly already existing rails you can drive with train from sim to sim. If all sims are connected with bridges and you can drive with cars through highways and drive with train then it could be much more fun and if you are sim owner there then you can connect the rails with your railway station or connect the streets with it to come with car. Why not making all this realistic and big? Sunday Lonewolf has a meeting with all wolfgrid residents. Perhaps there is interest for such a biiig project to work together. But everyone has to help then. Right now Jimmy Olson is the only one who is doing all work. But this could change.
Any interest in such?

From this I can only assume you are using it as an opportunity to peddle your vacuous false equivalency arguments that don't stand up to scrutiny. Sure, the very rich were a little bit poorer, but they remained very rich, but everyone else had access to decent housing, decent healthcare and education, all provided free off cost at point of use. The system wasn't perfect, as no human system is, or can be, but it was in so many ways superior to what we have now in terms of the ideology behind it. I fight with words where I can, and I have fought the far-right here in Wales ever since I was aware of how bad it could be. I have been clear, even in my more intemperate comments, that violence is only to be considered where absolutely necessary. 99.9999999% of genuine Anfita would agree to that,as peaceful means are always superior to violent means. But sometimes there isn't a choice and the far-right has never been slow to use violence and anti-fascists forced to defend themselves or those they protect. That is the message those writing critical comments here need to consider, but it seems that they would rather aid the far-right by condemning the defensive actions of Antifa, which represents a far wider spectrum of opinion than just the far-left. Indeed, such a wide spectrum that Antifa cannot in any seriousness be regarded as a 'far-left' umbrella, and anyone echoing that notion, though they may not actually be a fascist themselves, are nonetheless guilty of promoting the lies and half-truths of the far-right.

The analogies with 1930s era Germany are worryingly close and we shall have to act swiftly if we are to avoid widespread violence. So I would suggest to those who stubbornly insist on remaining stood in the middle of the road to choose which side they are on because otherwise they'll get run over. Instead of coming here and posting comments critical of those who have chosen to stand up to the far-right and fascism , those making the criticisms could spend their time challenging the real and present threat that is the far-right they claim to abhor. 1) I'm not from the USA.
2) I have seen Antifa in many videos over the last few years using violence when none was used against them to start, they just assumed someone was a fascist.
3) You have assumed many things about me based simply on a poem I added which is all about being radicalized.
4) The issue is when you decide who is a fascist and that you have a right to use violence against them.

Anti-fascism isn't about hatred, but about love of humanity, but it isn't pacifist either, nor is it necessarily non-violent. However, it's not the anti-facsists that decide the course of events, as anti-fascism is a reaction to fascism, and is a force for good. Not all of us live in an echo chamber, we have the internet and some of us know how to use it, and also read a range of views - how else can we counter the lies of people like Trump, Farage, Meloni, Milei, Orban etc? Some of us read books written by experts in their field, books written former Trump insiders who found their humanity and blew a whistle. So no, most of us here who are concerned about the rise of the far-right do not live in an echo chamber, and we care deeply about our world and are prepared to fight for it, if needs be. From the sounds of it, you seem to be saying in your poem that people should, instead of taking a stand against evil should just pretend it isn't happening.

Every decent thinking person should support this event - the threat of the far-right extends far beyond Germany and threatens us all. Yet all it would take is for us ordinary people to deluge our politicians and let them know that we DEMAND change from the failed neo-liberal economic policies that are driving the rise of the far-right. Recent polls in the UK has shown that 52% of Gen Z (people 13 to 27) think that democracy is a waste of time and that we;d be better off ruled by a benevolent dictator - trouble is there has never been a dictator who has been benevolent for more than a week! One can possibly never turn those who are truly of the far-right but as Germany knows, it's not the dyed-in-the-wool fascist that gain power on their own: it's the failure of mainstream politicians to listen to the concerns of ordinary, decent people , and take them seriously, making the changes the people want to see, but instead ignoring the people, thus driving them to vote for the far-right in the hope of effecting change, or not voting at all, letting the far-right take control by default. We in Europe need to make this stand, not jsut for ourselves but also to hold the baton for those many Americans now very concerned about the future of their country under a neo-fascist president
