However, politics is more generally associated with making decisions in a group. And because of their role in elections and government decision-making, polls are a major part of the political landscape. An election itself is a poll (the only important one say some). Before and after elections, polls are a critical tool for gauging the "will of the people" beyond what simple election results can show. Polls are, by their nature, political.

A poll on OSW says that the will of the people here is that this is not a place for politics. But if you don't want politics on OSW, you lose just by voting. Not that it matters. Polling results in OWS are not enforceable and will not stop political posts. Want to do something effective? Block people.

Good afternoon! The new Release of the Shoutcast & DJ Board with Remote has been updated. This updated corrected the error that would occur every time someone selected Color from the Menu. This is ToyBoy. We all know him as an active OpenSim user in OSW. He has many projects that inspire us, beautiful sims he invites us to, great events, technical support—what more can I say? A valiant champion of the OpenSim idea. Because of his diverse activities within Hypergrid, a certain troublemaker has rightfully caught his eye.

Now for the kicker: Dorena Verne, who occasionally posts political images with little captions. Yes, truly awful anarchist stuff from the wicked, wicked left-wing corner, ugh. Our eyes, like those of other users, are glued to these terrible images; we're paralyzed and can neither scroll on nor ignore the wicked Dorena, the power of a wicked witch.

What does Dorena actually do for OpenSim? Just offer several regions for HG visitors, hold at least one event per week. Or, yes, she recently posted a complete backup strategy for a grid under Linux.

What's that compared to the sheer number of OpenSim-related posts from our highly esteemed ToyBoy? Just look at his profile; it would take you hours to take it all in!!

Nun kommts: Dorena Verne, die hin und wieder auch mal politische Bilder mit kleinen Bilderkommentaren postet. Ja, wirklich ganz schlimmes anarchistisches Zeug aus der bösen, bösen linken Ecke, pfui. Die Augen, wie auch die anderer User kleben an diesen furchtbaren Bildern fest, Sie sind gelähmt und können weder weiterscrollen noch die böse Dorena ignorieren, die Macht einer bösen Hexe.
Was tut Dorena schon groß für OpenSim? Nur etliche Regionen für HG-Besucher anbieten, mindestens einmal die Woche ein Event. Oder, ja vor kurzen mal eine komplette Backupstrategie für ein Grid unter Linux gepostet.

THE INIQUITOUS FUN FAIR — An OpenSim Story

What a crazy time we live in. The news cycle shows you a town in crisis while HIDING the story which should get coverage. But here in OpenSim, we have a Virtual Town in Crisis; that is... THE REAL STORY... and all of you are invited.

Dismayland exists because of worldly conflict. It was inspired by Banksy, whose art has always held a mirror to the absurd. As an NPC enthusiast, I found a wellspring of ideas to draw from, even without seeing the original exhibit in person. My thought was simple: What if theme parks were truly honest with their customers?

As a Florida resident within driving distance of every major theme park... and well aware of the drama surrounding them... this scenario was too good to pass up. Everything here is fictitious, but loosely based on reality in ways that will be obvious only to those who follow local news. Take that for what you will.

What we have here is a Digital Virtual Novel you can explore. Leave your worries behind. Enjoy a nonsensical portrayal of the ridiculous... because that is what entertainment is. Nothing that happens here influences the outside world, as someone was kind enough to point out. What is a virtual novel without plot twists, corruption and some intrigue?

Enter the Dismayland Scavenger Hunt.

Dirty Helga and I were brainstorming maddening additions for Dismayland. I reject most of what Hollywood produces these days, so I turned to older films for inspiration. I have seen scavenger hunts before but they were far too easy. I wanted something epic.. something outright crazy, yet honestly solvable.

What emerged: a game board that remotely renames objects, a separate script that deploys roaming 'sploder' drones dropping clues, deceitful NPCs, misdirection, MISINFORMATION and a cow being abducted by aliens who holds nothing but contempt for that insufferable game board. All of these elements were already present in Dismayland. I just needed code to make it all work together... and that is where the turpitude of Dirty Helga shines. Nobody knows the lore better than her, and she was instrumental in stitching it all together.

There will always be some politics in OpenSim. My plan is to keep whatever exists here specific to the grid... not reality. When you're ready for your ESCAPE, The Iniquitous Fun Fair awaits.

The scripts alone speak for themselves. It is dark, creepy, funny and lots of fun.

I had a chance to check out his new ScavHunt game. The past few days I have spent hours in his region just playing that game and trying to win it which I eventually did. Maybe with a little help lol. It is one of those games that keeps you on the edge.

The region is like walking through a bad nightmare but in a cool twisted way that you get curious enough to check it out.

His mind created things that I would have never guessed you could even do in opensim. The detail, the music, the afterlife the insanity lol. It is a great region.
