Liebe Freunde der Kunst und Kultur, liebe OpenSim-Freunde,
in diesem Jahr feiern wir das Pangea Kunst- und Kulturfestival bereits zum fünften Mal – und eröffnen es in Köln. Das hat einen ganz besonderen Grund: 20 Jahre virtuelles Köln. Aus diesem Anlass wird Köln in diesem Jahr zur lebendigen Bühne der Kunst. Das Opening startet am 24.04.2026 um 11 AM SLT / 20 Uhr – mit unserem DJ Marlon Wayne, der den Auftakt musikalisch begleitet. Auf der Kölner Domplatte präsentieren sich nicht nur Künstlerinnen und Künstler mit ihren aktuellen Projekten. Anders als in den vergangenen Jahren geben in diesem Jahr auch die kreativen Köpfe des Pangea Grids sowie aus anderen OpenSim-Grids Einblicke in ihre Projekte, Sims und Ideenwelten – denn dieses Festival lebt von Vielfalt und dem gemeinsamen Gestalten. Die Pavillons und Ausstellungen sind dabei nicht nur Momentaufnahmen, sondern Ausgangspunkte für weiterführende Projekte, neue Sims und künstlerische Entwicklungen. Dafür danken wir von Herzen für so viel Kreativität. Zu den diesjährigen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern zählen unter anderem Cherry Manga, Tutz Zabelin, Tina Bey, Terra Merhyem und Nyx Breen, die ihre Arbeiten im Laufe des Jahres in entstehenden oder sich weiterentwickelnden Sims präsentieren. Ebenso freuen wir uns auf Künstlerinnen und Künstler sowie Kunstschaffende wie ArtBlue, Tryad Destiny, Loru Destiny, Juliette SurrealDreaming, Rage Darkstone, Kimm Starr, Ansjela Amat, Serafina Bollettie, Lampithaler Artist und Reyno Parx sowie viele weitere, die eindrucksvolle Einblicke in ihr künstlerisches Schaffen geben. Einige von ihnen entwickeln ihre Arbeiten weiter und sind bereits Teil der Perspektive für das Pangea Festival 2027. Besonders ehren wir Cleopata Rayal, die mit 88 Jahren mit ihren selbstgemalten Bildern und ihrer Lyrik einen besonderen Platz in einer der Art-Galerien in Köln einnimmt und dort ihre Werke präsentiert. Ein besonderer Moment des Innehaltens ist unserem Gedenkpavillon gewidmet. Dort erinnern wir an Künstler und Wegbegleiter, die nicht mehr unter uns sind: Torbens Asp, Veritas McMaster, Mal Burns, Luna Lunaria und Mimi Reich. Ihr Wirken bleibt Teil dieses Festivals. Zur kreativen Vielfalt zählen für uns auch die Erbauer der Karnevalswagen. Ihnen sowie allen beteiligten Grids und Buildern gilt unser besonderer Dank. So erwartet euch in diesem Jahr ein weiteres Highlight im November: Am 11.11., dem traditionellen Beginn der Karnevalssession, feiern wir eine besondere Karnevalseröffnung im Pangea Grid – ein Event, auf das wir uns schon jetzt freuen dürfen. Unser Dank gilt ebenso allen DJs und DJanes, Musikern sowie den vielen Menschen im Hintergrund, die mit ihrem technischen Support das Pangea Grid – und damit dieses Festival der Kunst und Kultur – überhaupt möglich machen. Ebenso bedanken wir uns herzlich bei der HG Safari und allen weiteren Unterstützern und Wegbegleitern. Im Laufe des Jahres erwarten euch nicht nur neue Eröffnungen beeindruckender Kreativsims sowie Kunst- und Informationsausstellungen in Köln, sondern auch zahlreiche Veranstaltungen, mit denen wir die teilnehmenden Künstlerinnen und Künstler ehren und ihre Werke lebendig werden lassen. Wir freuen uns auf ein Jahr voller Kunst, Begegnungen und gemeinsamer Momente – und auf euren Besuch.

Dear friends of art and culture, dear OpenSim friends,
this year we celebrate the Pangea Art and Culture Festival for the fifth time – and we are opening it in Cologne. There is a very special reason for this: 20 years of virtual Cologne. For this occasion, Cologne becomes a vibrant stage for art throughout the year. The opening will take place on April 24, 2026 at 11 AM SLT / 8 PM CET, featuring our DJ Marlon Wayne, who will musically accompany the start of the festival. On Cologne’s Domplatte, not only artists present their current projects. Unlike previous years, the creative minds of the Pangea Grid as well as other OpenSim grids will also offer insights into their projects, sims, and creative worlds – because this festival thrives on diversity and collaborative creation. The pavilions and exhibitions are not just snapshots, but starting points for ongoing projects, new sims, and artistic developments. For this, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such incredible creativity. Among the artists presenting larger-scale projects this year are Cherry Manga, Tutz Zabelin, Tina Bey, Terra Merhyem, and Nyx Breen, who will showcase their work over the course of the year in evolving or newly created sims. We are also delighted to feature contributions from ArtBlue, Tryad Destiny, Loru Destiny, Juliette SurrealDreaming, Rage Darkstone, Kimm Starr, Ansjela Amat, Serafina Bollettie, Lampithaler Artist and Reyno Parx, as well as many others, who offer inspiring insights into their artistic work. Some of them continue to develop their work and are already part of the perspective for the Pangea Festival 2027. We especially honor Cleopata Rayal, who at the age of 88 presents her self-painted artworks and poetry in one of the art galleries in Cologne. A special moment of remembrance is dedicated to our memorial pavilion, where we honor artists and companions who are no longer with us: Torbens Asp, Veritas McMaster, Mal Burns, Luna Lunaria, and Mimi Reich. Their legacy remains an integral part of this festival. Creative diversity also includes the builders of the carnival floats, to whom we extend our special thanks, along with all participating grids and builders. Another highlight awaits us in November: on November 11th, the traditional start of the carnival season, we will celebrate a special carnival opening in the Pangea Grid – an event we are already looking forward to. Our sincere thanks also go to all DJs, DJanes, musicians, and the many people working behind the scenes whose technical support makes the Pangea Grid – and thus this festival of art and culture – possible. We also warmly thank the HG Safari and all other supporters and companions along the way. Throughout the year, you can look forward not only to the opening of impressive new creative sims and art and information exhibitions in Cologne, but also to numerous events honoring participating artists and bringing their work to life. Schade das viele hier das nicht wahrhaben wollen und glauben man kann sich in virtuellen Welten diesen Wahnsinn entziehen. Glaubt, was ihr wollt, aber lasst mich hier meine Überzeugung und auch meine Meinung kundzutun. Man muss mich nicht lesen, wenn man nicht will. Aber mich und meine entsprechenden Beiträge hier zu bekämpfen, rückt euch ziemlich nahe in die Richtung, welches mein Bild aufzeigt. Schönen Tag noch.

It's a shame that many here refuse to accept this and believe they can escape this madness in virtual worlds. Believe what you want, but let me express my conviction and my opinion here. You don't have to read me if you don't want to. But attacking me and my posts here will bring you pretty close to the direction I'm painting. Have a nice day.

We built these worlds to escape the real one. Every direction of the political compass is equally avoidable. Think of the family gathering where everyone gets along beautifully, because everyone silently agreed not to go there today.

The Sunflower Bakery & Cafe has both Ukrainian and Irish Foods. Ireland has taken in over 112,000 Ukrainian refugees since the invasion and war with Russia began. Some of the refugees have gone other places but many have stayed, making Ukrainian people and culture a signifigant part of Irish culture now too. The bakery on Fianna Rua is owned by 2 sisters from the Ukraine. You will find Paska - Ukrainian Easter bread as well as some traditional painted eggs. And the bakery of course also has local Irish treats. Immediately under the gnome cookies you can see on top of the counter are Fifteens.

"Fifteens are a popular, no-bake Northern Irish traybake named for their core ingredients: 15 digestive biscuits, 15 marshmallows, 15 glacé cherries, and sweetened condensed milk. This sweet, sticky, and chewy treat is rolled in coconut, chilled, and sliced. They are easy to prepare, perfect for tea, and often served as a nostalgic treat."

On the right in that same section you can see Irish Cream Horns.

"Irish cream horns are a classic pastry made from flaky puff pastry wrapped around a cone-shaped mold, baked until golden, and filled with whipped cream or pastry cream. They are often dusted with powdered sugar, offering a light, crunchy texture paired with a soft, sweet filling."

This batch doesn't have powdered sugar but I assure you they are still delicious:) And all are free to copy/buy for 0:)

Ulster Fry

"An Ulster fry is a traditional Northern Irish breakfast, often served all day, featuring fried bacon, sausages, eggs, black/white pudding, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Key, defining elements that distinguish it from a full English breakfast are the inclusion of soda bread and potato farls (potato bread) fried until crisp."

There is some debate about the inclusion of baked beans. Traditionalists say no but modern Ulster Fry plates have them and I like them so I included them. There's an attribution notecard in the contents and this beautiful plate can be found in Doyle's Coffee House (it used to be a pub in pervious incarnations of the build but we have a fair few pubs:)
