For those not aware, OSFest is now a fully Hypergrid festival where you can host events on your own grid or grab some space on the OSFest grid to exhibit or setup a store. Before OSFest in September, OSGrid tends to run its fundraiser which is why we didn't choose dates in that month. Following OSFest, Hypergrid International Expo will be in November then OSCC likely in December. Fall is busy on the Hypergrid with many other events happening so hopefully some of those will join in the fun with remote events instead of schedule conflicts so we can send them some avatars too Let's celebrate each other together. OpenSim Network Grid – Nexa Physics Development

This video shows our ongoing Nexa Physics development inside OpenSim Network Grid, focused on making trucks and trailers behave more like real vehicles instead of simply moving as one rigid object.

We are developing a functional fifth-wheel / trailer hitch system where the trailer remains connected to the truck through a dedicated hitch point while still being able to pivot independently. The goal is to reproduce realistic trailer behavior during normal driving, tight turns, reversing, and jackknife situations.

The system includes the fifth-wheel connection point, a soft-lock hitch prim that keeps the trailer attached while allowing movement, independent truck and trailer rotation, controlled following distance, and speed tuning so the trailer can stay synchronized with the truck through different gears.

We are also refining how the trailer reacts when backing up. Instead of simply following directly behind the truck, it needs to pivot naturally around the fifth-wheel connection and progressively angle into a realistic jackknife position.

This is part of a larger project to push OpenSim beyond traditional social-world movement and develop more advanced vehicle physics, interactive systems, scripted gameplay, and realistic physical behavior.

OpenSim Network Grid is the platform.
Nexa Physics is our developing physics technology.

I’ve started making my own music mixes to burn onto 80-minute CDs for my ancient-but-beloved kitchen CD player. 😄

I pick songs I can dance to while cleaning the kitchen — because apparently, I need a proper soundtrack to get those dishes done. And honestly, it works! The more I dance, the more motivated I get. 💃🕺

And there’s another side effect: my cooking seems to be getting better and better. So clearly, dancing is part of the recipe. 😂
