Hello non-virtual people,
I come to ask for advice.
I have my grid's homepage set up with Joomla, which is old and outdated because the Jopensim module hasn't been updated again (a pity, because the work this person did was wonderful).
I've tried with Wordpress, and it's not going very well either.
I would like it if you could suggest alternatives for the registration and the grid's website. I am already discouraged, thinking I am a dinosaur on the verge of extinction.

Another thing, the other day I made a web viewer for the grid, a shame, it goes too slow and the new generations are about pressing buttons, not following a huge tutorial to be able to download, set up, and enter a Grid (I know it seems easy to you), but they look at me with eyes of "what???"
Has anyone ever tried this before?

What a very busy day for me. Phew! So glad to be home. I am quite tired of driving. :D I discovered that the wonderful Fred Beckheusen has added email to dreamgrid some time ago. This means if you enable it, that objects can send emails to other objects, as well as to and from your real world email. I enabled it in dreamgrid (SORRY OSGRID DOESNT HAVE THIS FEATURE ENABLED). I then created a box that is an email terminal. You click it, enter a subject and a message and click send. It sends the email straight to my email address. I tested it, AND IT WORKS GREAT!!! Fred is Genius.

RANDOM THOUGHT ON AN ARCANE TEXTURE, CREEPY NEIGHBORS, CREATIVITY and INTEGRITY

Was reading the back and forth of the infamous "arcane texture on my dance floor" with some interest. I have no connection to anyone involved, including Marianna, but this quote from her post hit home with me:

" they're not just copying pixels—they're co-opting the creative vision and storytelling of the original artist. They're diluting the integrity of the work and robbing it of its unique identity."
That is a huge problem for any creator, from Taylor Swift (who has to re-record her entire library after getting it stolen out from under her), all the way down to the poor guy who created that arcane texture god knows how many years ago years that probably 100 people have used without permission. From all indications, it is truly a bad problem in Open Sim. I wager this is why many artists who support themselves by their work or who want their ideas protected are hesitant to invest time or money into the "wild west' of OSGrid or open sim in general. To reiterate, I am not talking about copying an object or texture or pulling something from Second Life and redoing it. There are legitimate reasons for this. We are talking about the stealing of narrative and overall concepts that an individual created. Basically stealing someone's dream that they have risked sharing with the world.

Here is a small example:

It was only months ago I arrived in OS and decided to open up a small space on the OSGrid, Avedon Park. It was only days after that I was contacted by my landlord (Shout out to Undecel Masala at Masala Estates! The Magic Huds have all been updated today 2/20/2024. This update fixes a problem which would present itself if two witches tried to use their huds in the same region. (or 2 elves, or 2 wizards, or 2 fairies, or 2 vampires). What previously happened is that one witch would control the other witches magic at the same time as hers. This has been fixed. Now when you wear the magic hud, it brands to YOUR avatar. This stops other people who have the same magic from accidentally using your magic and casting 2 spells simultaneously. Make sense?
