@everyone 2026 has begun and its time to get to planning OSFest 2026 - yes we are starting early 😉 Tentative dates are October 9, 2026 thru October 24, 2026. Our primary goal is to have 65% events on other grids and 35% on the OSFest grid.

Choosing our theme is the next step so I created a ranked choice bot we can use to narrow choices without people "bandwagoning" or seeing spoilers. Each poll we vote on is limited to 5 choices so we will be running more than one ranked choice poll to help us rank suggested themes. When you vote, (ranking your choices), assign a number from 1 to 5 to each choice where the best choice is 5 and the worst choice is 1. So far we have the following suggestions:

This is a demonstration of a Catacombs 3D map rendered on the surfaces of prims each prim has 8 faces and is 8 pixels. This required unlocking the FASTEST Opensim possible settings. Settings not exposed by opensim. This made it possible to script a walkable 3D FPS map crypt with fake lighting effects all just colors! no textures. It is grainy because is extremely low pixels!
A technical marvel for opensim that it can indeed run DOOM on a prim if you was to script it. For those who think its fake i will be opening a special region called Limits in Winxtropia with the demos soon!

i'm back from the holiday rush and i started working on my Japanese Expansion of VivoSim. I have redesigned the scripts in the Kurumi Tree (walnut) to provide both walnuts and the timber byproducts!

Allow me to introduce the forum troll

The forum troll deliberately tries to cause conflict by posting provocative or derogatory comments. Their goal is to annoy others and/or provoke angry counter-comments.

How do you get rid of a forum troll?

- Report the troll to the forum operator

Only a forum administrator can ensure that an account can no longer post anything on their forum. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to permanently keep them off a website through administrative measures. The forum troll is skilled at hiding behind one or more pseudonyms. Persistent trolls protect their true identities by concealing their IP address or using a proxy server.

Forum trolls thrive on any kind of attention they receive. Whether it's polite requests, threats of consequences, or counter-insults, any reaction from another person serves as fuel for the troll and encourages them to continue their disrespectful behavior.

What should you do if the troll cannot be permanently banned by the forum operator? The most important measure is:

“Don't feed the troll!”

Since every response, every comment, and every mention of their name is food for the troll (and permanent banning by website operators is difficult), the only way to get rid of the troll is to “starve” them, i.e.:

- Ignore the troll.
No matter how provocative and offensive they may become, show them NO REACTION. Remain silent! No matter how difficult it may be when you are personally attacked verbally, the troll MUST have a reaction in order to continue. Persistent trolls are like junkies going through withdrawal: at first, they will become even louder and more offensive in order to provoke a reaction.

- Mute the troll.
Constant, recurring insults are stressful for any normal person, even if you don't respond to them. Most forums offer a “block” function so that certain people can no longer contact you. Use this option and block the troll. Unfortunately, with persistent trolls who change accounts, you have to repeat this process over and over again, but eventually... eventually, your silence will wear the troll down to the point where they give up and look for another place to vent.

- Together we are strongest!
It is nerve-wracking to be repeatedly targeted by a troll. Many trolls are highly manipulative. They like to portray themselves publicly as victims and/or try to get other members to take their side. That is why it is important for the entire forum community to stand united against the troll by collectively ignoring this person.

Always remember: every single word, every mention of their name, every reaction is the fuel that keeps the forum troll alive. If just one person throws the troll a piece of bait in the form of a reaction, they immediately draw energy from it to continue...

There are so many better things you can do in your free time than waste precious time on trolls. So do what makes you happy and have fun instead of letting bored people bring anger and sadness into your life!!!

p.s.: Comments for this post are not useful. Why? Some of you will find this post helpful, others will probably find it stupid. But as already mentioned: every comment pleases and feeds the troll – and I personally would rather starve the troll than allow it to have fun at my expense...

Der Forentroll versucht absichtlich durch Beleidigungen Konflikte zu verursachen, indem er provokative oder abfällige Kommentare veröffentlicht. Sein Ziel ist es, andere zu verärgern und/oder wütende Gegenkommentare zu provozieren.

Wie wird man einen Forentroll wieder los?

Meldet den Troll beim Forenbetreiber

Nur ein Forenadmin kann dafür sorgen, dass ein Account nichts mehr in dessen Forum schreiben kann. Es ist leider ziemlich schwer ihn durch administrative Maßnahmen dauerhaft von einer Webseite fernzuhalten. Der Forentroll versteht es geschickt, sich hinter einem oder mehreren Pseudonymen zu verstecken. Hartnäckige Trolle schützen ihre wahren Identitäten durch Verschleiern ihrer IP-Adresse oder durch Nutzen eines Proxyservers.

Der Forentroll lebt von jeder Art der Aufmerksamkeit, die man ihm gibt. Egal ob höfliches Bitten, Androhung von Konsequenzen oder Gegenbeleidigungen - jegliche Reaktion einer anderen Person dient dem Troll als Nahrung und bestärkt ihn darin, mit seinem respektlosen Treiben weiterzumachen.

Was tun, wenn sich der Troll vom Forenbetreiber nicht auf dauerhaft fernhalten lässt? Die wichtigste Regel lautet:


"Füttere nicht den Troll!"

Da jede Antwort, jeder Kommentar und jede Erwähnung seines Namens Futter für den Troll bedeuten (und dauerhaftes Bannen durch Webseitenbetreiber nur schwer möglich ist), kann man den Troll tatsächlich nur loswerden, indem man ihn "aushungert", das heißt:

- Ignoriert den Troll
Egal wie provokativ und beleidigend er auch werden mag, zeigt ihm KEINE REAKTION. Schweigt euch aus! Egal wie schwer es auch ist, wenn man persönlich verbal angegriffen wird- der Troll MUSS eine Reaktion haben, um sein weitermachen zu können. Hartnäckige Trolle sind wie Junkies auf Entzug: sie werden zunächst noch lauter und beleidigender werden, um doch noch eine Reaktion zu provozieren.

- Schaltet den Troll stumm
Jeden normalen Menschen belasten ständige widerkehrende Beschimpfungen, auch wenn man nicht darauf eingeht. Die meisten Foren bieten eine "Blockierfunktion" an, so dass einen bestimmte Personen nicht mehr kontaktieren können. Nutzt diese Möglichkeit und blockiert den Troll. Bei hartnäckigen Trollen mit wechselnden Accounts muss man das leider immer neu wiederholen, aber irgendwann ... irgendwann habt ihr den Troll durch euer Schweigen soweit, dass er aufgibt und sich einen anderen Ort zum Austoben sucht.

- Gemeinsam sind wir am stärksten!
Es ist nervenaufreibend immer wieder Opfer eines Trolls zu sein. Viele Trolle sind stark manipulativ. Sie stellen sich gern selbst öffentlich als Opfer dar und/oder versuchen andere Mitglieder auf ihre Seite zu ziehen. Deswegen ist es wichtig, dass sich möglichst die ganze Forengemeinschaft geschlossen gegen den Troll stellt: durch gemeinschaftliches Ignorieren dieser Person.

Denkt immer daran: jedes einzelne Wort, jede Erwähnung seines Namens, jede Reaktion ist die Nahrung, die den Forentroll am Leben hält. Wirft nur eine einzige Person dem Troll ein Stückchen Futter in Form einer Reaktion zu, zieht er daraus sofort Energie um weiterzumachen.....

Es gibt soviel Schöneres, was ihr in eurer Freizeit tun könnt, als wertvolle Lebenszeit an den Troll zu verschwenden. Also macht das, was euch Freude macht, und habt Spaß anstatt Wut und Traurigkeit von einem gelangweilten Menschen in euer Leben bringen zu lassen!!!

Überarbeitete Sound Vendoren in der "Sound Machine"

Nachdem die Original Sound Vendoren, die ich vor ein paar Jahren von einem Freund geschenkt bekommen habe, die dumme Angewohnheit hatten, die Scriptengine zu triggern, mit dem Ergebnis, dass die Skripte regelmäßig versagt haben, habe ich mich endlich dran gemacht, die Vendoren auszutauschen.
Sie sind vielleicht nicht mehr so schick wie die alten, dafür laufen die Skripte jetzt aber ohne Gemecker...
Und wo ich gleich am Überarbeiten war, habe ich gleich noch einige neue Sounds dazu gepackt... :)

Revised sound vendors in the “Sound Machine”

After the original sound vendors, which I received from a friend a few years ago, had the annoying habit of triggering the script engine, resulting in the scripts regularly failing, I finally got around to replacing the vendors.
They may not be as fancy as the old ones, but now the scripts run without any problems...
And while I was revising them, I added a few new sounds... :)
