The Paradise is done

Well, almost done. On the one hand, Vanaheim, with its free islands designed by the tenants, really is a paradise in the “2nd Sanctuary” grid. On the other hand, there’s still plenty of new things to come. And now we’re one step further along.
The first section of the walking trail is complete and ready to welcome visitors. Almost two kilometres of trail lead across seven islands, each with its own character. Every hiker should be able to find their favourite spot. Explore the trail. From east to west or vice versa. On foot, on horseback or by bike. Tired of walking? Then make use of the rest areas or relax on one of the many boats along the way. Or perhaps a longer break in one of the two beach houses? If a house is free, it’s yours for as long as you stay.

In the Welcome Region and at the landing point on the ship from Vanaheim, you’ll find teleporters (hiking map) to the trail’s starting points.

Das Paradis ist fertig

Nunja, beinahe fertig. Einerseits ist Vanaheim mit seinen von den Mietern gestalteten kostenlosen Inseln wirklich ein Paradis im '2nd Sanctuary' Grid. Andererseits soll noch viel neues entstehen. Und nun sind wir wieder einen Schritt weiter.
Der erste Abschnitt des Wanderwegs ist fertig und erwartet seine Besucher. Fast zwei Kilometer Weg führen über sieben Inseln, die jeweils ihren eigenen Charakter haben. Jeder Wanderer sollte seinen Lieblingsplatz finden können. Erforsche den Weg. Von Ost nach West oder umgekehrt. Zu Fuß, zu Pferd oder mit dem Rad. Müde vom Laufen? Dann nutze die Rastplätze oder erhole dich auf einem der vielen Boote am Wegrand. Oder eine längere Pause in einem der 2 Strandhäuser? Wenn ein Haus frei ist, dann gehört es dir solange du bleibst.

Auf der Welcome Region und dem Landepunkt auf dem Schiff von Vanaheim findest du Teleporter (Wanderkarte) zu den Startpunkten des Wanderweges.

Calling all travelers with a love for old horror novels and fantasy. Step into the book at the landing point and explore a medieval world, a gothic vampire castle owned by count Dracula himself.. find the attic in the boarding house where Victor Frankenstein created his creature or perhaps the room where Edgar Allen Poe wrote his "The Raven".. or maybe you just want to take a stroll around, enjoy the athmosphere and calming music, cuddle by a campfire in the woods (the wolves don't bite.. much) or explore the Citadel in all its glory.

This could be considered a gothic sim but without the gore. No blood fountains here, just a fantasy of ancient times, smoking fires, and something evil lurking. Experience the romance, the melancholy, the loss that was at the root of so many evil things.. experience After Dark. If you dare..

Roleplayers welcomed, explorers welcomed, child avaters not welcomed - Friends Grid is an adult grid.

CHAOS ENGINE: I made a drop in replacement for the coaster code in the script area which not only improves keyframe playback but also syncs with other vehicles (See our 'Scrambler' type ride Dizzy Wizzy). There are lots of OpenSim users with top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art machines with a high-end Nvidia gaming graphics card running Windows 11 who complain about Firestorm 7 being terribly slow. In comparison with Firestorm 6 even.

I have hardware that was upper-mid-range in 2018 with AMD graphics running Debian GNU/Linux. I've got nothing to complain about how Firestorm 7 is performing. (Of course, literally nobody here will believe me.)

This either means that I've hit a sweet spot in combining hardware and software. And that the combination of a top-range Intel i9 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Ti and Windows 11 is actually objectively slower than the combination of an eight-year-old six-core AMD Ryzen CPU, and AMD Radeon RX 590 and Debian. At least when running Firestorm.

Or this means that everyone else considers a two-digit frame rate a slideshow whereas I've happily capped my frame rate at 30.

What I can comprehend even less is that single-threaded Firestorm 6 is supposed to be faster than multi-threaded Firestorm 7 on a CPU with 12, 16, 24 or more threads.
