Formed in 1965, Pink Floyd are probably one of the most loved groups of the Psychedelic era. Their 15 studio albums from 'Pipers at the Gates of Dawn' to 'The Endless River' spanned 47 years.

Floyd were renowned for their sonic experimentation, live performances incorporated lavish light shows and quadraphonic speaker systems. Concept works such a 'The Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Wall' played on repeat on many bed-sit turntables of the 70's booming out the dark themes of alienation, war, insanity and dystopia.

Art surrounded much of Floyds output, cartoon illustrator Gerald Scarfe provided his disturbing ink-splattered caricatures for the rock opera 'The Wall' and their albums most often featured the work of surrealist graphic designer Storm Thorgerson who also produced covers for Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Peter Gabriel, the Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, The Muse, The Cranberries and Biffy Clyro.

Housed in the re-creation of Battersea Power Station on the Art Factory estates, the artwork of Pink Floyd is presented along with 3D recreations. # 🌍 BloodMoon Translator HUB — Now Available!

Until now, we have been using Translator HUBs based on an unofficial Google translation service.

Recently, Google started blocking translation requests coming from some of our server IP addresses when the service detected too many automated requests. This is especially noticeable during busy events, such as our parties at **Event Beach**, where many conversations and several languages can generate a very large number of translations.

When this happens, all Translator HUBs running from regions hosted behind the same public IP can temporarily stop working.

🔧 **To solve this problem, BloodMoon has created its own version of the Translator HUB.**

The new **BloodMoon Translator HUB** no longer communicates directly with Google. Translation requests now go through the secure BloodMoon infrastructure and use **Microsoft Azure Translator** as the translation engine.

✨ **What changes for users?**

Nothing! 😊

The Translator HUB works exactly as before:

🌐 Rez the HUB in your region
🖱️ Users click it and select their language
💬 Everyone continues chatting normally in local chat
🔄 Messages are automatically translated into the selected languages

The main difference is behind the scenes: we now use an official translation service with a much larger allowance of **2,000,000 translated characters per month**.

🔐 **Where can it be used?**

By default, the BloodMoon Translator HUB can only access the translation service from **servers authorized by BloodMoon**.

All regions hosted on BloodMoon servers are already authorized and can use the HUB immediately.

If you would like to use the Translator HUB on a region hosted on **another server**, please contact **Vlad Helsing**. The server's public IP address will need to be added to the BloodMoon Translator API whitelist before the HUB can operate.

# Established RP & Creative Group Looking for a New OpenSim Home

We are a german, established and creative RP group currently exploring options for a new long-term home within the OpenSim community.

Our project has grown into much more than a single RP region. Over time, we have developed our own themed worlds, roleplay areas, shops, architecture and a wide range of original content. This includes an extensive Arabian-inspired RP shop, as well as additional shops and themed areas.

Our worlds are open to visitors and can be explored. Interested Grid owners are very welcome to visit and get a personal impression of our project, architecture, themed environments and RP atmosphere. We believe that seeing what we have created for yourself is much more meaningful than simply describing it.

## What we are looking for

We are looking for a **stable, reliably maintained and technically future-oriented Grid** where our project can continue to develop over the long term.

Some of the things that are particularly important to us are:

* A current and actively maintained OpenSim version
* **PBR support**
* A reliable and functioning money/transaction system
* Support for 0 T$ transactions
* Reliable backups and secure server infrastructure
* An accessible Grid owner or reliable support team
* A stable environment suitable for long-term RP
* Sufficient freedom to develop and manage our own themed worlds
* Ideally, the possibility of transferring our existing regions and original content

### Our current technical situation

One of the reasons we are currently exploring our options is the technical situation in our present Grid.

During the past several months, we have experienced recurring server-related problems. At the same time, some important updates are now missing, including updates required for features we need for the further development of our project – particularly **PBR**.

Our shops are also affected.

The shops use the standard OpenSim transaction system. Although the items offered are free, their delivery is technically handled through a **0 T$ transaction**. These transactions are currently no longer working reliably because of the existing technical problems.

Based on what we currently understand, this appears to be very likely related to a server update that has been outstanding for quite some time.

For us, this situation has demonstrated how important a **properly maintained and technically up-to-date Grid infrastructure** is for the long-term development of an RP project.

## What we bring

We are **not simply looking for land**.

We bring an established RP community, our own themed worlds, shops, original architecture and a considerable amount of creative content.

Our worlds can be made publicly accessible and are therefore not intended exclusively for our own group. Visitors can explore our themed areas, experience our architecture and discover our shops and other content.

We see this not simply as finding a place for our group, but as an opportunity to bring **additional content and unique themed environments** to an existing Grid.

Our goal would be a **long-term partnership** from which both sides can benefit.

## Why we are not looking to create our own Grid

Some people might reasonably ask why, given our need for land, we do not simply rent a server and create our own Grid.

For us, this is a conscious decision.

From our own experience in Second Life, we have seen how easily RP communities can become fragmented when more and more people create their own separate worlds.

A single region can be beautifully designed. But if everyone creates their own RP world and then waits for other people to come and visit, there is a risk that many interesting places will ultimately exist without developing an active community around them.

For us, RP is not primarily about owning land.

**RP lives through people, interaction, stories and a living community.**

We would therefore rather contribute our own worlds, shops, creative content and RP activities to an existing community than create yet another isolated Grid.

We believe that **cooperation can be more valuable than separation**.

Our ideal future would be to find a Grid where our existing project can become part of a larger, active community – while at the same time bringing something unique and valuable to that community ourselves.

**We are not looking for a place simply to put our buildings.**

**We are looking for a place where our worlds can become part of something alive.** 🌍✨

## Why are we looking?

Our current Grid has served us very well in the past, and we have always had a positive and respectful relationship with its owner. We therefore want to make it clear that this is **not intended as public criticism of anyone**.

However, the technical problems have now reached a point where they are affecting our project and its further development. Communication with the Grid administration has also become increasingly difficult.

We therefore need to consider how we can ensure the long-term future of our project.

**No final decision about leaving our current Grid has been made at this point.**

We would first like to explore the possibilities within the OpenSim community and speak with potentially suitable Grid owners and administrators.

If you are a Grid owner or administrator and believe that our project could be a good fit for your Grid, we would be very happy to hear from you.

Interested Grid owners are warmly invited to visit our existing themed worlds and see our work for themselves.

We are open to discussing region size, location, costs, migration of existing content and different forms of long-term cooperation.

**We are looking for a place where both sides can contribute, create and grow together.**

I am honored to share the news that Fred Beckhusen’s “Phaze” collection will be coming to the Weathered Woods Second Life Marketplace store.

Phaze was the Second Life region of Fred Beckhusen and Debbie Edwards, and the creations associated with Phaze represent their creativity, work, and history in Second Life. Full credit for these creations and their legacy belongs to Fred Beckhusen and Debbie Edwards.

Weathered Woods is honored to provide a new home where selected pieces from this remarkable archive can once again be made available to the Second Life community.

This will be a carefully curated collection. Fred will decide which creations from his archives he wishes to release, and those pieces will be added to Weathered Woods over time. Each Marketplace listing will preserve the appropriate creator attribution and acknowledge the history behind the work.

For me, having Fred’s work represented alongside my own creations at Weathered Woods is an extraordinary honor. I look forward to helping preserve this little piece of Second Life history and making Fred and Debbie’s creations available for others to discover and enjoy again.

I would like to clarify the purpose of this project.

The Phaze Collection represents archived Second Life creations by Fred Beckhusen and Debbie Edwards. Our goal is preservation—to restore these precious assets, keep them from being lost to time, and allow selected creations to be enjoyed again in the environment for which they were originally created.

These are not simply files that can automatically be moved to OpenSim. Some contain Second Life-specific scripts and functionality that would need to be rewritten or adapted for OpenSim before they could work properly.

We are also not using Second Life Marketplace primarily as a money-making venture. It is the Second Life distribution portal available to us, making it a practical way to preserve and provide access to selected pieces from the archive.

OpenSim is separate. Fred has generously provided creations to the OpenSim community through Outworldz for well over a decade, and new resources continue to be added there. We do not distribute through Kitely Market. We distribute here:
