I decided that BOM was sucking in firestorm ..heads not rezzing things like that. Can I hear an AMEN? I discovered that the viewer had toggles in it that would turn off BOM randomly. Was driving me crazy. Evox would be on then would look and it would be off again. The viewer was using some deprecated assumptions that BOM was not available everywhere and if it did not get a call back from the sim in time it would turn BOM off. The Temple of Stillness and Light


The temple stands with quiet grace against the stone of the mountain, its wooden beams and layered roof forming a serene silhouette that invites every visitor to pause and breathe. What began as a generous gift from Marpil, the owner of Tierra des Volcanes in the AMV grid, has grown into a place of prayer and reflection within Samsara. Through care and expansion, the entrance has been transformed into a more spacious and ceremonial path, guiding the visitor gently toward the heart of the temple.

The temple is aligned in a straight line with the Royal Palace, creating a spiritual axis that connects both places through intention and design. This alignment gives the entire region a sense of harmony, as if the land itself is breathing in rhythm with the structures that rest upon it.

Behind the temple lies the Onsen spa, a peaceful retreat where visitors can rest, release tension and reconnect with themselves. Its presence adds a layer of healing energy to the area, turning the temple grounds into a sanctuary not only for prayer but also for renewal of body and spirit.

The monks created by Golpher bring life and presence to the temple. Their calm posture and gentle energy can be found throughout Samsara, offering silent guidance and a sense of continuity. They stand as symbols of devotion and peace, enriching the atmosphere wherever they appear.

The stairs, the lanterns and the surrounding trees create a path that feels sacred and welcoming. Light touches the stone softly, and the quiet presence of the monks adds depth to the experience. The temple has become a place where gratitude, reflection and inner stillness come together, shaped by the hands and hearts of those who contributed to its creation.

Samsara continues to grow through the kindness of its friends, and this temple stands as a reminder of that shared journey. It invites every visitor to step inside, to breathe deeply and to feel the quiet strength that lives within its walls.

Bamboo sways in the background, cherry trees bloom with delicate color and the lanterns glow with a warm and welcoming spirit. Every element speaks softly, encouraging stillness, reflection and the simple beauty of being present.

In the heart of the garden stands the wish balloon, waiting with gentle patience. Visitors may touch it and release a wish, sending their hope into the universe with trust and lightness. It is a small act, yet it carries a sense of magic, a reminder that intention can travel far beyond the boundaries of the garden.

This place is also a sanctuary for love, a setting where couples can walk together, take photographs and capture moments filled with tenderness. The Entrance to the Royal Palace in Samsara is a place where the physical world softens and the spirit begins to rise. The path toward the palace unfolds in gentle light, guiding the visitor upward with a sense of reverence and calm. Every stone, every shadow and every blossom contributes to an atmosphere that feels both ancient and alive.

Samsara has recently moved to TwiztidTimez Grid, where it continues to grow and evolve. The region remains on a spacious 5x5 VAR, offering room for the Royal Palace and its surroundings to breathe and expand. The environment was built by Yana Dakota, whose vision shaped the land into a place of harmony, reflection and quiet beauty.

The Entrance to the Royal Palace has been crafted with great attention to light. Spotlights were used throughout the design to bring out depth, warmth and subtle detail. The illumination is not only practical but spiritual, creating a sense of presence and guiding the visitor gently toward the palace above. Light becomes a companion, a soft reminder that every step is part of a journey.

To experience the region as it was intended, shared environment is strongly recommended. The atmosphere, colors and shadows are designed to work together as a single living whole. Sounds and background music are also an essential part of the experience, adding emotional depth and grounding the visitor in the world that surrounds them.

Samsara offers monthly group gifts as a gesture of gratitude to its community. These gifts are small blessings, tokens of appreciation for those who walk the paths of the region and return to its peaceful spaces.

Visitors are warmly invited to step through the Entrance to the Royal Palace and discover the world that unfolds beyond.

There are lots of OpenSim users with top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art machines with a high-end Nvidia gaming graphics card running Windows 11 who complain about Firestorm 7 being terribly slow. In comparison with Firestorm 6 even.

I have hardware that was upper-mid-range in 2018 with AMD graphics running Debian GNU/Linux. I've got nothing to complain about how Firestorm 7 is performing. (Of course, literally nobody here will believe me.)

This either means that I've hit a sweet spot in combining hardware and software. And that the combination of a top-range Intel i9 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Ti and Windows 11 is actually objectively slower than the combination of an eight-year-old six-core AMD Ryzen CPU, and AMD Radeon RX 590 and Debian. At least when running Firestorm.

Or this means that everyone else considers a two-digit frame rate a slideshow whereas I've happily capped my frame rate at 30.

What I can comprehend even less is that single-threaded Firestorm 6 is supposed to be faster than multi-threaded Firestorm 7 on a CPU with 12, 16, 24 or more threads.
