Visitors can wear a frog avatar and use a swim HUD to experience the pond from an entirely different perspective. Suddenly the water isn't a decorative feature—it becomes part of the world you move through. Lily pads become places to rest, the leaf boat feels enormous, and the fairy frogs you encounter seem less like decorations and more like fellow inhabitants.

For a little while, you aren't visiting the frogs. You are one of them.

It uses Control+Shift+G instead of C because lots of things use C including camera tools in firestorm, so it's hella annoying. G has no conflicts i've found yet. migration begins! after about a year of running we're making some changes to assetd server. originally it stored assets in ipfs and kept local zstd compressed files on each region server. this burned up alot of drive space and 10 years down the road just isn't sustainable. So I'm getting rid of ipfs and storing all assets in s3 bucket. assetd pulls the assets on request, fixes broken ones if needed. with squid cache between assetd and opensim things are much faster. squid keeps current assets in ram for fast loading and stores less active assets in an optimized file structure. we can adjust the levels to increase ram and drive cache. i'm currently moving 2,583,234 assets into s3 bucket. after that's complete we just need to restart the grid, shouldn't be any downtime during the transfer though. on dev server assets load super fast. so we hope to have a better experience on holoneon grid in the next few days.

The Balloons of Fleetwood Beach

The Steampunk balloons of Fleetwood Beach offer a special way to explore the region from the air.

Visitors can choose between two different experiences.

There are player-controlled balloons, where you take the pilot’s seat and fly the balloon yourself. You control its altitude, direction and movement. The deliberately slow and slightly delayed handling gives the impression of flying a large, heavy airship rather than a fast vehicle.

If you prefer to relax and simply enjoy the view, you can take the automatic balloon tour instead. The balloon follows a predefined route through Fleetwood Beach, allowing passengers to enjoy a comfortable sightseeing trip without having to control the flight themselves.

This way, every visitor can decide whether they want to be the pilot or simply enjoy the ride as a passenger.

Whether you fly on your own or take the automatic tour, the balloons provide a unique view of the buildings, landscapes and attractions of Fleetwood Beach and are one of the most enjoyable ways to explore the region.

I want to be specific: I have been an artist in RL for decades, i had worked on paper and did collages when nobody knew what computers could do. The only machine i had was a copy machine and it was fun. I had also put my face on it and objects, experimenting a lot. I dont use AI on my artwork these days because i could not do art without it. I am experimenting. I was mixing RL artwork and virtual photography (exposed them in a gallery in RL), now adding AI to it and using different prompts and filters and exploring programs and having so much fun. Any artist can choose his tools, that is perfectly ok for me and i would visit an exhibition for other aspects than what tools are used to express the content, does this person have someting to tell me? (btw. i like to use the french word expo - exposition because what ideas people have in that expression is what i imagine in the english expression. not going into details. lol)

A little more magic has been added to Tumbletwig — A Magical Frog Fairy World. The newest addition is this enchanted Frog Fairy Fountain, with dancing water jets surrounding its tiny winged guardian.

Tumbletwig is being prepared as a complete downloadable OAR exclusively for DreamGrid users. DreamGridders will be able to bring the world into their own grids and explore all of its treehouses, winding paths, ponds, gardens, hidden places and whimsical details.

I’m still adding those final touches before Tumbletwig makes its way into DreamGrid — and this fountain found exactly where it belongs. 🐸

Fairhaven is a strictly historical region set in 1557 Somerset in Tudor England. As I get ready to go back to school, my region is much more sparse than I'd hoped it would be, but I've learned so much this summer -- what an experience! I'll keep working on small pieces of it between lesson planning and grading papers.

As far as hobbies go, this is way better, if only slightly cheaper, than golf.
