Now... Some grids will not let you get access to the gateway information via osGetGridGateway... So in other words, it's going to break on some sims, but you can always reset it, and just know that it's ok to tp to those grids, just don't try to tp around once you get there, you can always use ctrl-shift-h to get home if you have a home location set. So why a TP hud? We had these in sL and they make life easier, if you are smart enough to know how to use one. It's just better, that's why.
Keep in mind, that it is purposefully designed so that when you tp to a grid ONLY those regions in that grid will appear under the [Regions] button. Once you select a region it will tp you to that region. Then you click [Locations] and only the locations that are IN THAT SIM will be displayed. This is done on purpose to avoid being confused about what locations are in what sim on what grid. It's intelligently designed to make it as easy as possible to navigate around the hypergrids.

The hyperlink on those words "read how to save it in a notecard." points to "http://opensimworld.com/faq#notecard" and the words, "latest version of the Beacon" points to "https://opensimworld.com/faq".
Neither of those links shows anything about a notecard nor a beacon, there's just a whole lot of posts from people trying to promote this, that, or the other.
What is this beacon, and does it work on Osgrid? Also when I edit my region listing, it has a place to enter the hg hop link, but when I select the grid Osgrid, the space to enter that hop link disappears, and also the "Region name" field is blank, even though I already added my region name before. Though after I enter my region name, and hit save, the region name is still blank.
Every time I hit "Edit Region" (which points to "https://opensimworld.com/addregion?id=88791") the "Select Grid:", "Grid Address:", & "Region Name" are reset to default values. Which shouldn't happen, of course.
Plus if I don't select a Grid name and enter the hg hop link under "Grid address" and hit "Save region" then under "HyperGrid:" in the " Status" area it shows "hop:80:" and if I click to copy, it copies "hop:80:" not the actual hop link I entered.
Additionally the actual picture I uploaded of the region doesn't show on the listing page, only the 360 degree image shows.
Also when I share the link for the region I added here, the preview on Discord is the default, "No Picture Yet ... Opensimworld" ... even though I have added both a picture and a 360 degree picture.

Cascais is located near Estoril where Paula grew up and Ericeira where she lived and worked with her husband Victor Willing. Paula studied at the Slade school of art and died peacefully on the 8th of June in North London.
Sure, it can be practical when building. But first of all, it requires buildings which are even more ridiculously out-of-scale than the avatars created by fresh Second Life converts. Otherwise, the camera would constantly bump into the ceiling or even clip through it.
Besides, it suggests that this is your eye level. You don't see the world from your avatar's point of view. 3.60m (12') doors with handles on actual eye level or even higher don't seem strange to you at all, nor do living-rooms with ceiling heights akin to cathedrals or chin-high handrails.
Last but not least, high-hovering cameras are so 2000s. Nowadays, "shoulder cams" at the same height as the character's eyes are all the rage in video games. And you can have them in OpenSim as well.
Here are two settings I've found to work well.
