A new release today. A very tiny one...it's a little goldfinch. I never made a bird before but I thought the bird bath perhaps needs one and maybe I'll be doing some other bird related things. This guy is in 2 versions, flat feet for the ground and feet to perch on branches and things. He also comes with and without random finch sounds. He's at the main shop by the bird bath of course :)

Clarification for closed grids: Opensimworld is a directory of Hypergrid destinations. Closed regions will not appear in the rankings or directory (just like we don't list Second life regions). Regions that were once open and closed are not deleted, but may remain in the directory for 1 year. They won't appear in the rankings and they are marked as inaccessible, but their pages still exist

Additionally: this only applies to regions that are closed to hypergrid. It is OK to list a region that requires group membership to access for example.

This is a beautiful Heart Bezel solitaire in Ruby. It is bento rigged so it increased the LOD it is a bit heavy. The mesh was reduced 50% prior to rigging too. For those that demand bento, and to the ones who scream at me for being heavy, I have to say, sorry but had to do it!! You can find it in the Bento rings section in the Foyer.

I am honored to share the news that Fred Beckhusen’s “Phaze” collection will be coming to the Weathered Woods Second Life Marketplace store.

Phaze was the Second Life region of Fred Beckhusen and Debbie Edwards, and the creations associated with Phaze represent their creativity, work, and history in Second Life. Full credit for these creations and their legacy belongs to Fred Beckhusen and Debbie Edwards.

Weathered Woods is honored to provide a new home where selected pieces from this remarkable archive can once again be made available to the Second Life community.

This will be a carefully curated collection. Fred will decide which creations from his archives he wishes to release, and those pieces will be added to Weathered Woods over time. Each Marketplace listing will preserve the appropriate creator attribution and acknowledge the history behind the work.

For me, having Fred’s work represented alongside my own creations at Weathered Woods is an extraordinary honor. I look forward to helping preserve this little piece of Second Life history and making Fred and Debbie’s creations available for others to discover and enjoy again.

A Note About the Phaze Archive

I would like to clarify the purpose of this project.

The Phaze Collection represents archived Second Life creations by Fred Beckhusen and Debbie Edwards. Our goal is preservation—to restore these precious assets, keep them from being lost to time, and allow selected creations to be enjoyed again in the environment for which they were originally created.

These are not simply files that can automatically be moved to OpenSim. Some contain Second Life-specific scripts and functionality that would need to be rewritten or adapted for OpenSim before they could work properly.

We are also not using Second Life Marketplace primarily as a money-making venture. It is the Second Life distribution portal available to us, making it a practical way to preserve and provide access to selected pieces from the archive.

OpenSim is separate. Fred has generously provided creations to the OpenSim community through Outworldz for well over a decade, and new resources continue to be added there. We do not distribute through Kitely Market. We distribute here:

Many of our OpenSim friends also maintain homes and avatars in Second Life. Those are the people this announcement was intended to reach. We are part of communities that overlap; enjoying one virtual world does not require us to stop enjoying another.

Most importantly, this project is about preservation, respect for the original creators, and ensuring that an important collection of virtual-world creativity survives to be enjoyed again. ❤️

Jackie — Wings of Remembrance 🦅

Today I created a piece that means more to me than jewelry.

The passing of Jackie, the beloved Big Bear bald eagle, touched my heart deeply. Watching her life, her devotion to her nest, and seeing her young finally take flight made her story one I will never forget.

In her memory, I created Wings of Remembrance, a silver eagle choker with her wings spread wide—symbolizing strength, freedom, love, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Some creations begin as an idea. Others begin in the heart. This was one of those.
