There are ways to improve your graphics. If you know in firestorm how to get into debug settings under advanced on the menu. (advanced does not show up by default and must be enabled.) You can find these settings. renderautomutesurfacevolume (140) renderautohidesurfacearea (180) rendersculptsatthreshold (2) setting these here thangs will help you not to crash from gpu crashers, and will keep stuff that uses a ton of { gpu card memory } from slowing down your system. Play with them thar settings a l'il bit and find out if you can adjust them better on your system and what and all.

Amoa Nude Beach has been re-designed, re-built and re-opened.

After a few false starts, a serious error was discovered that took time to correct. Because of this, the region needed to be rebuilt. While doing the re-build, changes, improvements and additions were made. Still a little work in progress on some of the newer areas and features, but overall, Amoa Nude Beach is open.

We hope that you will enjoy it and use it as so many were upset when it was taken offline for the rebuild. We don't advertise it, we don't look for big crowds but we hope that people will use it for more than just a pickup joint.

There are sections for swingers and group sex, and as always MOST pieces of furniture are for play. (Can't have you banging on the tables in the food court though lol).

What is an idiom? No, it's not a very stupid person. That would be an idiot. The praise "it's raining cats and dogs" is a common English idiom. Literally, that sentence would mean animals are falling from the clouds. What the idiom actually means is that it is raining very heavily. But, why should we care about what the idiom actually means? At the "Best in Taking Common Idioms Literally" Event, we want to see someone make animals, specifically canines and felines, fall from the clouds.

Taking Common Idioms Literally is not all that hard, really. "Break a leg?" Just have an alt on hand with a baseball bat. "Get bent out of shape?" Just have an alt on hand with a baseball bat. "Going batty?" You could literally transform yourself into bat (or what some call "a rat with wings"). Or you could artfully express both the idiomatic and literal meaning of "going batty" by having a mentally deranged alt on hand with a baseball bat. Works for me!

A word to the wise... Please use extreme caution if you choose to execute the console command "fcache clear". When I discovered this command I thought it was wonderful because it would unblock the ability to tp to another grid when it became blocked because you'd just been there earlier, and the map would report "region not found". Here is the reason. While fcache clear does a great job clearing the fcache, it has some other side effects. In my case it caused a discrepancy between my mariadb database, and my rezzed world, which resulted in the items in the cache i cleared being deleted in my database. I wasn't even aware until about a week later. To make matters worse I advised a friend to use fcache clear, and it destroyed his grid. We realized what was happening and stopped using it, and the problems went away, though he was quite angry with me for some time. So if you do use it, just be aware that problems may be down the road to show up yet, including many items missing textures from your database when you have to restore it for whatever reason. So I apologize to anyone I recommended to use this function. Don't do it. It's for your own good.

I would like to thank Priscilla Kleenex (from what-so-ever-grid) for her tireless efforts in finding faulty settings on our SIMs and bringing them to our attention. I could once more fix a couple of flying trees I had unintentionally made moveable when I wanted to make them copyable. Without the help of those voluntary security-testers like Mrs. Kleenex I would never have noticed.

We're all used to OpenSim's standard rear camera angle. A camera that floats more than three and a half metres above the ground. But seriously, this camera angle has got a whole lot of issues.

Sure, it can be practical when building. But first of all, it requires buildings which are even more ridiculously out-of-scale than the avatars created by fresh Second Life converts. Otherwise, the camera would constantly bump into the ceiling or even clip through it.

Besides, it suggests that this is your eye level. You don't see the world from your avatar's point of view. 3.60m (12') doors with handles on actual eye level or even higher don't seem strange to you at all, nor do living-rooms with ceiling heights akin to cathedrals or chin-high handrails.

Last but not least, high-hovering cameras are so 2000s. Nowadays, "shoulder cams" at the same height as the character's eyes are all the rage in video games. And you can have them in OpenSim as well.

Here are two settings I've found to work well.

Npc Greeter? Why not? I have made a single prim npc greeter. It greets the person and sends them a group invite to your group. Just remember to change the group on the object that you want them to be invited to. Also edit the script and change the wording to say what you want it to say. You can put any npc card in the yellow circle prim and that npc will show up (as long as it is the only one in there) If you need any help at all just ask me! I almost forgot. Grids/regions with no export should have to say so on their region description. its ridiculous to say you have free content and then not have it set for export so people waste hours and hours there only to not be able to rez things.
if they are doing this just to get traffic so they end up on some list, that is not ok.
i am not the only one who is upset about this.
just look at comments/reviews on every one of avitron's regions.
please do something about this.

Mitosis is a process where a single cell divides into two daughter cells, which are usually identical. However, mistakes happen. Well, my one region Xinashi has now divided into three regions, each different. Très troublant! My regions are mutants! But what beautiful mutants they are.

Almost all of what was the singular Xinashi has been redesigned. I think you are going to like the changes. Come visit all the old but now renewed attractions: oh HELLO, Sol Et Luna Dance, Treehouse Park, the Rocket Club, Strictmore Academy, the BDSM Warehouse, Sparta Gym, the Eagle LBGT Dance Club, Eros Yoga Center, and the deeply strange Dead-End Drive-In.

Xinashi is now Xinashi, Xin2 and the Eros Yoga Center. But wait! There's more. Use the teleporter board to visit our sister region, the wonderfully unusual Aether.

I have received a few complaints related to the Quintonia version of the satyrfarm. In particular, people who run grids are complaining that animals overwhelm the asset server with creating new notecards.

If you have this problem pick up version 5.8 of the animal script right now and use the updater on your animals from the Mintor store at worlds.quintonia.net:8002 . See Cnayl's comment below

Or, use the original version of the animal rezzer that you can find in the satyrfarm package in the opensimworld region.
