![]() | Queila 12 minutes ago I need a pirate bar, can someone help me? |
![]() | JojoTross 3 hours ago *reads the rest of the discussion* yes, as a former Arch user who's also dabbled in Fedora, OpenSuse, Debian, Ubuntu and Slackware, I highly recommend just using Mint. It works on almost anything out of the box and stays out of your way. Arch is a good way to learn though. |
![]() | JojoTross 3 hours ago @Suzi_Avonside Arch lets you build your system from pre-compiled packages. Gentoo lets you build your Linux system from scratch ;3 |
![]() | Khiron Ametza 6 hours ago Thank you @Xenon Darrow and Yay and thank you @JamieWright! |
![]() | Xenon Darrow 8 hours ago @khiron: Sometimes Soul Grid just locks everything down. Then later, they open it back up. It's a mystery. :D |
![]() | JamieWright✦ 13 hours ago Neverworld Grid is back up for anyone who's looking for it:) |
![]() | Suzi_Avonside✦ 17 hours ago Arch will also run on any hardware of a sufficient specification, i.e, any modern hardware. It's not really that special, just another Linux distro. |
![]() | Suzi_Avonside✦ 17 hours ago Arch Linux is very much like any other Linux distro, except you have to build your system from scratch the tradtional Linux way. If that seems daunting, there are Arch based distros such as Manjaro that give you all the benefits of Arch (mainly the AUR) without the pain! |
![]() | CherylFurse 18 hours ago Hello from Africa. Cyberglo is right. Arch is more for Mac Users with OpenBSD features. It supports native M processors and is very fast. Perhaps this is more a Linux you would only use on M Processor Macs |
![]() | HarperHeld✦ 18 hours ago You do NOT want arch LOL! Mint is a wonderful choice and it's what I have used for like 15 years. Anything debian-based is good. You'll find loads of support and help for it. Only caveat is that you may want to do pure debian if it's going to only be a server -but MATE if you're using it as a deskto |
![]() | Tonia 18 hours ago Interesting @CyberGlo CyberStar, the Linux Kernel is about the same & Linux Mint is still a very powerful Linux Distribution. I don't want my own Grid but prefer to be part of a community - just like to run my own Region Server! |
![]() | Harmony Beningborough 20 hours ago @Khiron Ametza, I just heard from Nasti that she has closed her businesses in Soul :( I told her we love her and she will be missed and we will be here if she decides to come back!! |
![]() | CyberGlo CyberStar yesterday If you decide to switch to Arch Linux, the linux used by the elite linux gurus, then I can help set up a grid on that. :) { I'm Wonderful, And It's Showing! } |
![]() | MrSnoodle yesterday @Tonia then run it with mono. If you need to install Mono runtime 6, then its in the Synaptic package manger on Mint. |
![]() | JamieWright✦ yesterday I don't see Neverworld back online yet as per their social media and I just tried to login in and it didn't go yet. Please stand by. I'm pretty sure it will be back today from the sounds of the progress. |
![]() | Khiron Ametza yesterday Thank you @JamieWright to keep us posted about the grid. I should sing there tomorrow and I'm worried. |
![]() | Tonia yesterday I see that Neverworld Grid is backonline. region-software-9.2.2 still means that it won't work with dotnet 8.0 |
![]() | CyberGlo CyberStar yesterday Free Janiyah! |
