What is friends-grid and the Friends region?

friends—grid is a sailing community (connected regions) that was built by a group of friends in 2023 and is owned by Safine Mahoe. You don’t have to sail, but if you do, you will love it!

Friends are the only thing that is important in Open Sim, nothing else really matters. As Woodrow Wilson said , “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.”

The Friends region is the heart of friends-grid. On this region, you will find Friends Stables, multiple satyr farms, trails through the rainforest, a large Marina to assist with your boating needs and the most beautiful waterfalls you will find anywhere!

In addition to the Friends Region, you will also find teleports to : Xinashi región with Oh Hello store, Annihilation role play region, Aquamica region with some of the largest and most detailed underwater worlds, Clearwater II with the Darwin Eco Project and many other regions being developed.

A limited number of free rentals are available, however, we are looking for people who want to be involved in our community, not simply collect free houses on every grid.

Enjoy riding a horse through the rainforest, pausing to enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls and listening to the tranquil sound of the cascading water. The lush greenery around you is teeming with life, and you can hear the chirping of birds and buzzing of insects as you make your way through the rainforest.

The horse beneath you is well-trained and sure-footed, carefully making its way over the rocky terrain and across streams. As you ride, you take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest, feeling a sense of peace and relaxation wash over you.

As you approach a majestic waterfall, you dismount from your horse and take a moment to admire the stunning view. The cool mist from the falls hits your face, and you feel rejuvenated and invigorated.

You spend some time at the waterfall, enjoying the tranquility of the rainforest and the power of nature before mounting your horse once again and continuing on your journey.

As you ride through the rainforest, you realize that this experience is one of a kind and something that you will never forget

Lunaria Emporium is my flagship store located on Wolf Territories Grid, where you'll find unique products created solely by me that can be purchased with Gloebits, or with other pay options through links to the Kitely Market.

The central store is large, with multiple rooms that include themes such as Christmas, Gothic, Vampire, Arcane Magic, Castles, Steampunk Airships, Medieval, Japanese/Asian, Greek and Roman, Statuary, Decor, freebies, large architecture in multiple styles, and large Venues.

Surrounding the central rotunda are large viewing parcels at ground level where you can walk through all of the structures available for purchase and fully experience each build. They can be accessed by teleport boards, bridges, flying, or taking a boat ride.

There is a freebies section inside the central store with several items free to anyone. Also available for free are the Ruth 2.0 and Roth 2.0 mesh avatars.

Important Note: Use Shared Environment and higher graphics to see the region properly. As you explore the various parcels, the sky settings will change to fit the theme.

I added an OSG Telescope to SkyRealm Observatory. The Stark North District is more than just an extension to Stark Islands. It's a full new region with the main sim North District plus 2 nice residential sims Archipelago and Causeway and an impressive nature sim called Straits. The main sim North District holds a bunch of shops. There are also some possibilities for nice roleplays.

The North District region is connected directly to Stark Islands, means you can even walk from the Stark Islands main sim to North District by crossing the whole region. Well, if you dont have the time or you are too lazy, you can go by boat or teleporter.

I have had requests to create heirlooms to be worn virtually, I cherish this, thank you.
So many people ask me, why is it that I don't create in Second Life anymore? The last time I tried uploading in SL some of my pieces cost 300L to upload. They have the testing region to check jewelry prior to upload which helped but for me, my pieces never uploaded the size I created them. They loaded huge and distorted, whereas here in Opensim all upload the exact size I create it in my RhinoGold studio. It is why I am here, easier workflow it is that simple. Firestorm has updated the Mesh Uploader so that you can now "preview" your mesh inworld in SL called "Local Mesh" which allows you to preview your mesh creations inworld and see edits you make to the mesh dae file in real-time prior to uploading which will save lindens. I will give it a try again and see if I get better results. Until then you are stuck with me, I love Opensim and the friends I have made here, thank you for your support!

One of the very first memorials I ever built was to Harriet, Spoiled Diva Riches. She was working on the grid I was on at the time building Helheim as "Hela" and having a ball. The last time we spoke was December 7th, 2019. She is greatly missed and still much loved.

Thank to Verna Avril and that suzan von otter for finding a bug that causes Local accounts to be banned even though they are not on the list, if the list contained spaces or a null line with just a carriage return line feed. Version 12 is released in their honor and contains this new function. Special thanks to princeofAmor for suggesting to ignore npc's. That cuts out 5 additional operations per iteration making the device faster if you have npc's on your land. :)

NEW VERSION 12. By popular request, it now also tells the person as well as the owner why a person was banned. Also flying is ON by default.
Presenting the OVERWATCH SENTRY. What does it do? Well, you can enter a list of grids to ban, people to ban by name, ip, or key. It also monitors each person that comes into your sim, and if they are wearing too many scripts to try and crash your sim, it bans them. If they are using too much sim memory and eating up all system resources, it bans them. If they are flying and you turn off flying in the system, it bans them. If they are too tall or too short, it bans them. So it does a lot, and it's all settable by you. I didn't do ban by age because avatar age is unreliable and can return a 0 day age. Not to mention that we all sometimes have to start over. The device is by the christmas tree at cyberdatastorm.com:8002/wizardry. It's a different kind of device from a security system. Security systems ban everyone except those you allow in. This lets everybody in - but it checks them to make sure they are not hacking or trying to hurt your sim, but it can also ban people from a list. It's really simple to use, just add the name to the appropriate list in the objects inventory, then just click to turn it on. Only the owner can turn it on or off.
