GentleFireGrid Community Notice

To all OpenSim members — both ours and our friends across the metaverse — I want to address the rumors going around. GentleFireGrid is not closing down. In fact, it’s the complete opposite.

We are preparing for a move, and the final adjustments will be made over the next few weeks. Once everything is in place, you’ll know exactly what’s happening and how to join us in our new home.

I look forward to seeing you there as we continue building a stronger, happier GentleFireGrid together.

FYI:

All of my regions have been up & running.
The beacons went offline while I was away.
Since I haven't been on in such a long while, I hadn't realized they went offline.
I have reset all the beacons on all of my regions.
They are all now active on OSW.

A few years ago I asked about creating in opensim and using software to enhance or to better render what you creat, related to photos. However at the time ai was not able to do a good job as it had a hard time rendering photos not just from opensim or sl but in games in general. But now things have much improved, and thanks to Jims posting earlier I read it has gotten way better. So here is an example.

Testing MeshyAI for Jewelry Parts: A First Workflow Experiment

I was recently asked whether I had ever tried using MeshyAI to create jewelry parts.

At the time, I had not.

Rather than simply answering the question, I decided to test it and document the process. This example represents my first experiment using MeshyAI-generated geometry as a starting point for jewelry development.

Churchtown is now on the new servers... We have changed the tp and LM in the Town Hall... the group gifts settings... but not the thousands LM in all the freebies boxes... we will change them one shop after an other ... It may take a long time ... Thanks

We imported an oar from another grid during a transfer and it had a botched bowling alley in it. Didn't realize it was replicating "physical" bowling pins all over the grid. lol. it got to the point where nobody could move like walking in molasses rubber bands. So I made this module to put physics to sleep when nobody is around. :) so we spent all day hunting down every last bowling pin and destroying it, which was tricking because they weren't showing up in area search and many of them were in 0,0,0 corners of regions all over the grid so we had to excavate and go deep-sea diving to find them. So now the grid is running smooth and no crashes. yay. The module is here maybe it's useful. it puts physical prims to sleep if nobody is on the region so it reduces the work of the physics engine. I hate to break the news, but.....
we needed yet another upgrade;
I found that a sim restart, would return a dead flamsieflocky....
so, now, I've added an autostart function that makes the bunch come alive all by itself....imagine me, in a few months,,,,with some 10 diff kinda flocksies doing their thing...
All is set in zzhop, feel free to pick up your autoflamsie anytime!

Hello again from flamflock country.....
there were some nasty bugs in previous releases, all fixed now.
as u see in the pic, I tested a flock of 1145......steady as a rock and extrme low eps and zero! lag.....still find it hard to believe myself:)
Flamsie-2.0 is now available in my zzhop @ Zweet ZurroundingZ.

First an idea. Then the drawing. Then realization. Created in Rhino from scratch using curves, extrusion, and capping, with cabochons and beading using array along the curve. No AI then, Just imagination, design, and craftsmanship. When you learn the tools anything is possible. The key is to try the tools and addons. Blender has wonderful addon called JewelCraft https://blender-addons.org/jewelcraft/. Spend just a few minutes a day learning it and in no time you will be creating wonderful designs. Some say I really don't need jewelry in virtual but when you replicate your grandmothers ring or learn to do that for others it is wonderful. I once created a book locket and a grandmother's ring for someone those are my most fond memories. Thank you for the requests. I was asked have I tried MeshyAI in jewelry creating, not yet but I have played a bit with MeshyAI and yes I see how it can create wonderful mesh parts for jewelry virtually, not so much for RL jewelry. I recently 3d printed in wax my Peace for Ukraine Pendant and the detail is really nice, the next step is lost wax casting. Give jewelry creating a try, having a ton of fun!!

Incontinence System

My new incontinence system is now complete and working (although there may of course be bugs still). The system is completely open source and you may get copies from https://opensimworld.com/library?view=164.

This product is I believe unique in OpenSim for two reasons: There are no other complete incontinence systems available in OpenSim that I am aware of. Also I know of no other systems even in Second Life that come with a web based control panel for RLV owners to use.

As I've said before - I know this is a polorising subject and I do not plan to post again about this (at least for some time). However, I will say that doing this has taught me a lot about similar systems and my next project is going to be an "outfit managment system" that has similar goals to the CTS-Wardrobe product in Second Life (which I dearly miss from Second Life).

It gets you started until you can get into the groove of going shopping.

I made it so if you stretch the firestorm one that it now remembers that for all panels till you do it again. So no more hidden titles from the huge textures ever ever again. If you want the texture bigger just hit the check mark where it says compact, open it again and boom HUGE texture.
