Der musikalische Stil von Týr ist ein komplexes Geflecht aus verschiedenen Einflüssen, das sich nur schwer in eine einzige Kategorie einordnen lässt. Dies unterscheidet sie von vielen Bands des Genres und macht ihre Texte, die oft auf färöischen, norwegischen oder dänischen Balladen und Sagen basieren, deutlich verständlicher.
