Howdy folks! Mickey Mouse here with news so big, it’s bigger-on-the-inside!
After almost 4 magical years in Neverworld, we’re moving Magicland to the all-new Carnivale Grid – and we’ve traveling like well, not quite royalty, but Time Lords! The Doctor has agreed to transport us and the entire park in their nifty contraption they call a “T.A.R.D.I.S.”.
(That’s short for “Totally Awesome Ride Distributing Infinite Surprises” – or so the Doctor tells me while doing that thing where they wave their glowing screwdriver at the parking meters. Long story.)
This magical blue box can fit:
All 30 Roller Coasters & Theme Rides (currently occupying the zero-gravity disco room)
All 14 Magical Light Parade Floats (the horses graciously agreed to wear diapers for the trip)
Every last churro stand (now accidentally time-locked to stay eternally crispy)
That singing topiary that gets really excited when Donald rants…. (he won’t leave without it)
Minnie’s entire shoe collection (they all look the same to me, but apparently “that one” is special)
Every last ounce of Magicland magic (can’t leave that behind!)
And still have room for Goofy’s “experimental” jellybean cannon!
Small print: May cause temporary time loops when Donald argues with the console. Not responsible for unexpected visits from Victorian-era carousel horses.

Promote Your Shop In Our Group
With 151 members, the "What Are You Looking For?" group is the largest and most active in OSW. As you might expect, there are more people looking for stuff than there are people helping them find it. We have a relatively small core group of people helping people find what they are looking for. And when these dedicated helpers do that, they are promoting your shop, if you have one, as a place to get that stuff.
So, if you have a shop, consider being a helper in the "What Are You Looking For?" group. You'd be promoting your shop as a place to find stuff people are looking for. Not that I'm asking for you to spam the group by advertising your shop in a way that is unrelated to a specific request. What I am suggesting is that you take a look at the posts in the "What Are You Looking For?" group whenever you are on OSW. See if you can help someone find the specific thing they are looking for. New Beta - Version 7.08 of DreamGrid has the ability to schedule a restart anytime during the day or night on any day(s) of the week. It's also running the very latest core Opensim with PBR materials and works with the latest Firestorm viewers as well as the old viewers. Click Help-Update or download the installer and run it.
Opensim in DreamGrid is super efficient and is virtually free to run on your own hardware. Pic is a screen grab of my grid. I run Outworldz.com:9000 with 128+ regions (1,391 SL regions) on an Intel NUC. According to my UPS. my cost is exactly $3.53 per month for all those regions at 14 cents/kWh. 🎉 Integration between OpenSim NewLifeItaly Grid and Hexivia Videochat: real-time IM messages!
A bridge between metaverse and web in real time.
The Hexivia platform has recently completed an advanced integration with the OpenSim NewLifeItaly grid, allowing the sending of IM (Instant Message) messages directly from the web videochat to the avatars present in the grid.
This feature, developed internally by the Hexivia team, opens new possibilities for synchronous communication between users connected via browser and users present in the virtual world.
🔧 How does it work?
Users connected to the Hexivia videochat can see who is currently online in the grid (NewLifeItaly).
It is possible to send private messages (IM) to those avatars with a simple click.
The system routes the messages in real time to the script resident in the grid, which receives via HTTP and forwards the IM to the specific user.
Everything happens with an elegant interface, directly integrated into the videochat experience, without the need for external software or additional logins.
🔐 Security and privacy
Messages are securely forwarded through authenticated HTTP endpoints.
The sender's name is included to ensure transparency in communication.
Messages are logged server-side for internal audits (optional).
🌍 Why it's important
This integration represents a step forward in interoperability between web platforms and decentralized metaverses. Connecting web users to those in OpenSim (without requiring client viewers) opens up scenarios:
