Today I would like to talk to you about Hypergrid Games in AvatarLife.

Many times there has been talk of grids that have been improperly and unjustifiably advertised on Opensimworld in a misleading way, I don't understand how AvatarLife is still present here.

First of all, they don't have an open grid to Hypergrid; AvatarLife users, just like what happened in the past with Avitron, do not accept HG connections, neither outgoing nor incoming, yet they are FULL of things coming from Opensimulator (probably their team can go out for shopping...), from bodies to clothes to much more.

Furthermore, the region that is being advertised here is totally inappropriate, not only because it is unreachable for users, but also because it shows as reachable and instead requires registration (this can be read in the comments of the region).

To activate an account to purchase virtual currency, you also have to provide them with a document (something that not even Second Life requires unless in particular cases where it is really necessary).

No respect for privacy on the website, disregarding international laws.

There are plenty of Opensimulator grids that offer casinos where you can play safely and legally; one of these is for example Wolf Territories Grid, but there are others as well, while AvatarLife seems to have very little in terms of legitimacy, there are no official licenses for the use of currency in line with European laws, and some time ago there was a rather suspicious document regarding the validity of their RNG (Random Number Generator), which usually applies to European Video Lotteries and has little to do with Opensimulator scripts or LSL in general.

It would be interesting to understand, since there is no declared company behind this grid, with what legal premise (with servers based in England and therefore under English jurisdiction) they can be sure to be compliant.

But what surprises me the most is that the internal team is the same as AviTron's, and the modus operandi is the same; they take ideas from other platforms (and propose them in a borderline absurd way) both technically and architecturally.

So, I don't understand how their region is still allowed to be listed for advertising if they have little to do with HG.

Do you think they can be trusted? Not for me.

I have advised many to block incoming and outgoing connections from this grid, just as it happened with Avitron; users won't suffer from it since they can't travel in HG, only their staff members who go around taking things from Opensim and then passing through other grids will be affected, so blocking them to some extent seems reasonable, and if I were you, I would do it.

I would like some explanations on this matter, perhaps, so if I am mistaken, they can demonstrate their truths here.

I am old :) I don't care! So I really don't care what you think :) I may not have seen "attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion" but I've seen and done some stuff that doesn't involve sitting and whining in a text box. So have your pale fun or wake up and make a POSITIVE difference :)

I have written a script for resizing prim objects. Have you ever went to shrink an object only to find that somewhere in one of the prims of the linkset the prim is to small to shrink further? This prevents you from shrinking the object. So what this script does is, it goes through the entire prim linkset and finds all the prims at .001 on x, y, or z axis and changes it to .005. Now you can shrink the object with no problem and without having to work your way through every prim in the linkset. Just drop in my script, touch the object one time, then shrink it down like you usually do in the viewer. Et Voila! Now don't you think I have a certain... "Je ne sais quoi?" I almost forgot. The script is called "The Smallest Part" and it's in the scripts section of this website where all the other free scripts are... :D A special thanks to Arielle for pointing out a bug in the code! It's fixed now! :)

I found the root problem of the Opensim Community

It has become 100% apparent the one consistent problem of this community is criticism. Whether it be constructive, productive, observed or helpful it is automatically deemed an attack and the emotionally disturbed retaliate.

The severe lack of mental maturity is almost astounding but makes apparent as to why this website becomes a soap opera, every couple of days.

One person could post a new dress. Yes every sheeple will post ooh ahh and oh. Maybe it's an awesome dress? But if one person notices a defect, something missed or something out of place and says anything. AHHH OMMMaGAwwd!! The critiquer is immediately attacked, de-railed, accused of being uneducated and MUST have mental disabilities, a.k.a. un-hinged! The person is labeled a troll or a post hijacker, etc.

That one person would then be subjected to the rest of the sheeple, trying to one up the other for glory points, clout, community appreciation, medal of dishonor? Take your pick, it probably has been awarded and true.

In the end, what has been accomplished? The dress is put into obscurity and ignored. The creator lifted on some social chair among the crowd for being a VICTIM. Oh the horror that someone noticed an error.

Rather than thanks, let me fix it and re-post? Which would be the BEST option and solution. Very rare chance.

It is pretty pathetic and this post will be attacked because it goes against the grain of the sheeple. You must agree and obey and follow without individual thought, logic or suffer the wrath of the emotionally disturbed!

And people wonder why I rarely post so much so, that even Swiss coocoo clockmakers, accuse me of making a first post, because of the space in time in between them.

Once this community can mature, and stop with the self-righteousness and take criticism constructively, will it thrive. Only time will tell, but I doubt it. Because in the years I have been here, and this is no different than toxic secondlife, it hasn't changed for the better.

Give it a try and be better.

Through the grapevine (thanks Jimmy) I am hearing of a script that is going around destroying assets and killing grids. I think it's at least attacked 2 grids that I know of, one of which we managed to rescue.

If you have this set to true in your Robust.ini you are vulnerable to it I think. I'm guessing as I've not seen the script itself.

I know I'll probably get shouted down - this is just a hunch that this is what is causing this issue.

It's nice when a region gets a "like". But it's PHANTASTIC when people are inspired by the ideas of others to create great things themselves. Like the beautiful photos that some visitors took with an extra black and white styled avatar at Black White Castle and published here on OSW.
I myself was inspired to build the region in 2022 by the wonderful Christmas present from my friends Finja and Jason, who had built a Wednesday snow globe especially for me. Wednesday (Addams, from the Addams Family) is supposedly allergic to color, and so the two of them made this particular globe predominantly dark ...
So when an idea inspires another person to create a new idea and this idea inspires other people to create new things, that's what makes OpenSim really fun ...

Es ist schön, wenn eine Region ein "Like" bekommt. Aber es ist PHANTASTISCH, wenn Leute durch die Ideen anderer inspiriert werden, selbst tolle Dinge zu schaffen. So wie die schönen Fotos, die einige Besucher mit einem extra schwarz - weiß gestylten Avatar auf Black White Castle gemacht und hier auf OSW veröffentlicht haben.
Ich selbst wurde 2022 zum Bau der Region das wunderbare Weihnachtsgeschenk meiner Freunde Finja und Jason inspiriert, die eine Wednesday-Schneekugel extra für mich gebaut hatten. Hello everyone, you will notice some of the listings in virtual beach show offline. I promise they are not offline, the new update to dream grid is having issues with the beacon keys in server. later today we will probably roll back.

I'm reading a lot of whining about "banning" oh how dare they?? ::gasp:: Listen, sweetheart, people have the right to ban whomever they wish for whatever reason they wish whether we like it or not - their grid or region, their rules their choice. I think it's a bit extreme, however, I have on occasions for personal reasons banned certain individuals because they have done their best to destroy my work or reputation, and we all know that people are generally inclined to believe the bad stories about someone rather than the good. I do not, as a rule, ban anybody who doesn't truly have it coming or who has not "requested" that I ban them, which has happened because I would not run my grid they way they wanted me to. I'd like to believe that everyone in open sim is adult, however that's a little like believing ice won't melt over a fire. I have met very few people in open sim that I dislike and then it is not the person I dislike so much as what they have done or said, but they are not banned nor will they be unless they earn it. I'm not going to name names and point fingers as that is "high school kid" stuff done by immature tattle tales who will go out of their way to make other's look bad...now days, I think they call them "Karens". So why don't we all just put on our "grown up" pants and panties and act like adults? Build, roleplay, dance, sing, create, design and develop and quit bitching about stuff that doesn't mean a hill of beans in the long run because the truth is, nobody cares if you've been banned. I do my best not to give anyone a reason to ban me but if you feel it's necessary for your own sanity, then by all means...have at it, I assure you it will not diminish me to the people who matter. You see the people who matter won't mind and the people who mind.....don't matter. Have a lovely day.

Dreamgrid 5.491 is out. I installed it and experienced issues. For some reason dreamgrid is choosing random port numbers outside the range i forwarded for dreamgrid use. This means that random sims in my dreamgrid are unreachable when i go to teleport. In my case half the sims were offline. It seems if you do not use Upnp, that the latest dreamgrid skips ports in the allocated port list, and chooses some ports in a slightly higher range. If you have a small number of ports allocated, then this means that some sims will come online with a port number outside your forwarded port range making them inaccessible. So beware of this issue.

I had a request by @LeonitasLionheart asking if the Nadder (Cobra) snake could be given too. We have made it available in both the Goliath size (for those wanting a Goliath sim-we plan to give this OAR when completed) I have also included the regular-sized snake for a normal sim. There is a Snake AO that you can wear to animate and the animations are also included so that you can also create Animesh snakes, there is an Animesh kit here too with everything you need. Thank you, Ferd for making this possible!!
