I would like to thank so many of the people on this page. I have read so many negative comments as a guest on this page about a virtual world called Avitron, so as a real Lawyers secretary it piqued my interest on how much this Avitron was doing wrong albeit maybe even illegal by the international cyber laws. I knew someone that had a account in that world so asked if they could help me get there. She did, I never said what I was doing but im glad I didnt. I got a free mesh avatar on arrival
free land if I wanted it but passed on this as I was interested in seeing this large land mass it was called City of Serenity I have now got a home there.

So let me say what I have found so far in the time I have been there. After trying so many other places in this open sim virtual world.

1. its all free no high costs like Secondlife, on arrival I was greeted by a friendly lady who showed me where to get my avatar from and then went on to show me how to add it again I did not tell her I was originally from Secondlife, but my biggest surprise was I found I was also getting free money.
2. Friendly people everywhere who told me the rules and where I could find them. So far I have found nothing bad in the rules and contrary to what I have been reading here it was in plain sight that Avitron and its administration would remove or fix anything that was found to be stolen from a creator if they proved it was their's. You do have to realise so much has come out of secondlife and been changed by so many people who is to tell her the original creator is only the creator themselves.
3. So now onto this City of Serenity, this is where my mind was blown away so big, so many plans a great no a huge benefit to Avitron congratulations on hooking these people. I contacted a Jasmine Cliodhna like I was told and so helpful she greeted me and was polite and ready to assist. She told me the rules of the land and told me that everything is free there is absolutely no transferring objects to others and you must not change any creators name (not that I know how to). Next we went to find the spot I wanted to put my home I found it then she took me to the house island so many beautiful homes to choose from I found a lovely one. She then put this down on the spot I chose then a Chopper Gausman again a very helpful man came and fixed the house to how I wanted it.

Now this is where I usually get rudeness or the brush off but no these people just stayed with me and helped me the whole way. I wanted specific textures my taste in furniture is not to everyones taste (yes the house comes either furnished or unfurnished) Jasmine spent 3 hours helping me never once said anything rude. So I am not sure what all the negativity is so far I have had nothing but friendliness, positivity and helpfulness.

So in summary all I can say if Avitron has got a 9/10, City of Serenity a 10/10 and they friendliness of everyone there 10/10. So Thank you everyone for making me curious and checking this virtual world and City of Serenity out

Anyone know of any open source scripts for personals boards? Thinking along the lines of how the ones at Taboo Ties in SL work (not that anyone here has ever visited a place like Taboo Ties of course :P)

This may just be my opinion, but I believe that OpenSim should be represented in the Metaverse Standards Forum (https://metaverse-standards.org/) in some way.

If you're wondering what the MSF is: They try to develop and design from scratch what we've already had for 15 years as OpenSim and for 14 years as the Hypergrid.

For one, I guess nobody there even knows that OpenSim exists, not as a platform, not as several thousand virtual worlds. Even Intel may have forgotten their early engagement in OpenSim.

Besides, they could learn from OpenSim what they're bound to learn from the mistakes they'll make. And they could see what OpenSim has done right that they should do, too.

It's just a pity, I guess, that there's nobody who's able and willing to represent the OpenSim ecosystem as a whole.

(By the way, Linden Lab isn't a member either.)

okay would like to thank Alex and Dex for taking a chance on us we have moved to Avitron i respect everyones thoughts on this but i can only say where were you all when we were looking for a grid to move to one gave prices but come no where near what we were leaving and as for the others that answered originally well im still waiting for the things only one grid offered us a place at the price we were paying but the specs were far beyond better and before you all say he has closed up so many times yes i have been in one of two of those worlds with Alex at the helm and i could see he still had a lot to learn but so far i see he has learnt a lot so he took a chance on us and we will take a chance on him. Thank you Alex and Dex and for all you are doing it has been and still is a joy to be at Avitron. So anyone that wants to still visit City of Serenity(serenity) and/or wants a home come on over and join us look forward to seeing you all

Just a note about "Whispering Oaks". As I do I was looking for new destinations and chose "Whispering Oaks".. I landed there and was not able to move around the area much... I started looking online for another destination on to go to and had trouble connecting to the next place. I came back to my awareness of where I was and found these remarks. and that is my experience at Whispering Oaks. THe worst experience I have had on OS since the day I arrived. I do not recommend this place ...obviously. I couldnt review it because this angry avatar actually banned me for bobbing up and down ..the place is public so no idea what the issue was. I had been alone in the area and had done nothing except look around. Hope things get better than this tomorrow
