A message to all Members and those that visit from other grids.

Inworld profiles do not work, my grid uses Jopensim and joomla and below are a few factors related to this issue. (I am not sure which version of dreamgrid this stopped working.

Foto the creator of jopensim is no longer invested in keeping this project alive. He has said he is done and his website is no longer active. I also assume grid is gone too but i have not checked it. https://www.jopensim.com/index.php

Joomla needs to be updated, however more important thing like getting opensim in dreamgrid stable is way more important. Maybe in the future once things behave things can be upgraded. Fred works very hard at what he does and this is a Fred fix. Please be patient as Fred works very hard and has more important things with dreamgrid at the moment. I am very grateful for what he does

If anyone who uses Dreamgrid with joomla/jopensim has found a solution please let me know. (will not roll back to previous version, code is old and fred no longer supports it)

HELP NEEDED:

The new Redlight City Police 'Special Crime Team' need the help of the residents in the Metropolis.
With our officers new body worn Ai technology the team are lacking in certain items and are hoping

Looking for a New Owner for Coopersville – A 64-Sim-Sized Community in Kitely

Greetings!

I'm looking for a new owner for Coopersville in Kitely — an Edwardian-themed community that spans a 64-sim-sized region. I’m shifting my focus toward updating and adding to my Four Winds store. There are only so many things I can give proper attention to. Coopersville deserves someone who can be a more active community owner and leader.

I plan to give it until the end of April to find someone to take over ownership. The new owner would take over on April 30th, 2025 including the monthly payment.

The monthly cost of $89.95 USD would be grandfathered in. The 64-sim-sized region has 150,000 prims and can support up to 80 avatars. It is not currently an "always-on" region, but that option is available should the new owner choose to upgrade.

All of the content that is currently on the region would remain there and would remain the property of the original owners. I won't delete anything but I would retain ownership of the buildings and landscaping because it's too difficult to change ownership with permissions and all. The new owner could continue using them indefinitely until or if they wish to replace them. I will give the new owner copies of all of the buildings that I created that are displayed in Coopersville with the exception of the content on the center Four Winds area which will be deleted.

On the north side of the region are 14 256x256 islands, all but 3 currently have renters. These islands rent for $5.00 USD per month or $1000 KC. I hope the new owner would continue offering island rentals for the sake of the current residents, but that’s completely up to them.

There are also 13 free homes around the perimeter of the main continent (in the southwest area of the region). All but one are currently occupied, and those homes are presently free for the residents — again, the new owner can decide how they want to handle that.

There is a large downtown area on the main continent. It has 19 shops that are currently free to the merchants occupying them. A 20th shop is by the ocean. The new owner can decide if they want to continue this.

Coopersville, although Edwardian themed, is not currently a roleplay region. The new owner could easily change it to roleplay. There are areas that are perfect for events too.

So TDS will be changing the way that you grab items at the store! I have decided to make all items full perms, only because I see my items at other stores with no credit to myself at all. So if I make everything full perm then everyone can pass out the items to their friends. I will also be boxing items based on dates that are in my inventory. I have thousands of items not out because I am just myself at TDS. So the store will still be open whilst I work in the sky to get items boxed for you to grab once it is ready. I was going to put items in boxes based on what the item is, however, I would be trawling through my invy at a snail's pace. So if you have items already then you can just unpack and delete. Dear Everyone... After endless battles with windows 10. The bizarre server crashes, the triplicate items in my oars... I'm going to linux. Let me explain why, today my server decided the usb ports were no longer needed. So I have no mouse, no keyboard, they don't even work in bios. This system is on a very powerful UPS so I know lightning didn't get it, but on the other hand it was 5 years old. So in messing with it while the keyboard still worked, I tried to fix the mouse but wound up crashing my grid, and then the mother board died leaving me once again friendless with no grid. :( So I did what every opensimian does and ordered a new server. But I think this time I'm going with debian. Hopefully I can find someone that uses debian with opensim to give me some insider information to get it up and running when the new server comes in. But just so you know, I'm down due to mysterious server problems. I have created an account on wolf territories called CyberGlo CyberStar, you can friend me there and I will probably never lose your friendship. Sorry for the troubles. CC

Remember back about 7 months ago, when Pagane and I told you all that Firestorm viewer was messing up the asset databases? Many called us liars. We even found the text and I copied and pasted it directly from the firestorm website that says this is true... https://opensimworld.com/post/112006 You can see it all in that original post above ^ Well now the situation has gotten so bad that users are starting to notice. Grids are starting to fall. etc. etc. Pagane works in her own business. One of the unique things she did is make a cacheless implementation of opensimulator. It was because of this that she stumbled across this problem the instant she upgraded her viewer above 6.6.14 as any viewer above that number has had some commits made that alter the way the data is read/written from the database. Again, remember, please, that firestorm ADMITS this on their own site. So for those of you who listened to us, enjoy your grid. To those who did not listen to us, enjoy your rebuild.
Note: because of Paganes cacheless implementation, when she upgraded her viewer to 6.6.16 she instantly saw her database getting destroyed instantly on the screen in front of her. Repair database, go back to 6.6.14 everything works. ok so far so good. reinstall 6.6.16 - boom database destroyed again. Repeat these steps, this time install 6.6.17 same problem - boom database crashes instantly. This has continued happening all the way up to the 7.x series.
Maybe the firestorm people need a cacheless version of opensim like Pagane has so they can INSTANTLY see the damage being done rather than letting it build up stealthily in the cache for long periods, so they would know what is going on?

It's with a heavy heart I announce the closure of the Hub Grid.

It was never one of those 'popular' Grids, and nor is the E Grid, but I like to think a few held it in a special sense :) We may not have been popular or well visited, or featured on the Safari or anything like that, but we enjoyed what we had. Sadly the funds are no longer there to finance the hosted Grid, so it will be shutting its doors, so to speak, immediately.

The E Grid will remain available for its rentals and may continue to offer new rentals.

If you are renting there, be sure you are wearing the Residents tag to visit your home.

Most of the E Grid will now be private, all that is not rentals.

While I am sad to announce the Hub going dark, I want to shout out to Masala Estates for their wonderful hosting and recommend them very very highly to anyone!

I am myself going on Hiatus here for an extended time. Life has changed for me and not in a negative way, but still changed. I will check from time to time, and want to thank those of you who visited our regions, for all your support. You truly made it worthwhile to stick around :)

Way back in the day, people "donated" their likeness to be used as the NPC dance partners that we all know and love. They are stored as simple notecards inside of our dance machines.

What I would like to propose, is a project where people can CONSENTUALLY donate their NPC clone notecard for use in everyone's dance machines. After being checked for quality (no missing parts) they would be available as a collection for anyone to use in their dance machines. I think everyone would appreciate some new NPC partners. :)

I know avatars are deeply personal, and people are sensitive about it. Maybe people can come dressed in an old outfit/look to donate a clone? What I am thinking is a machine that you click, and it asks for permission to clone you. It could be at several locations on different grids. Then we can get together periodically and pool our notecard collections.

As the larger grids come back online, there is only one way to see what assets are missing from your inventory. Go to the region terminal and type fcache clear for each region, then reboot. When the regions reload, you will be able to visually see what is missing from your inventory. This is the only true way to know what assets are gone from your inventory now.

Something wonderful is coming. working on free homes for you with surrounding, just changing with just one click on a button in your own region. full perm and a "how to". free to grab in a box at our grid when i finished. :) the future will be awesome. multiscene-rezzer on it's way. the first tries were working fine. now we rock the scenes and need some finetuning. the scrips will be full perm by the way too, so you may try them out yourself :) Costs? nothing but a smile by you because sharing is caring!

Well the cats woke me up at 6:30 am biting my toes - which is their way of saying "FEED US NOW!". So I got up and opened a can of tuna for them. Then I got a shower and got dressed and shaved and got all my gym gear and went to pick up my gym buddy in the phantom. I lifted weights and did 30 minutes of cardio on the treadmill, while watching "Obliterated" on netflix on my tablet. (These treadmills have a handy tablet holder spot) Well then we left the gym and I dropped off my gym buddy and went home. I thought I had to take TJ to the dr. for a BP checkup, but I was wrong, so I slept a few hours on the couch. When I woke up I was hungry so I went to Church's chicken and bought $43.79 worth of chicken, potatoes & gravy, mac & cheese, and honey biscuits. I already had tea at home so I came back home and we ate. Then I went to the movies and saw "The Painter" which is ok, but not that great as an action film. Typical cia spy saves the day and rescues everyone. Then I came back home and played with my kali linux uConsole and the cellular modem capabilities creating a service in systemD to autorun the cellular modem at boot. Then I logged onto open sim world and insulted someone and then decided to write about it all. :)

The hypergrid never ceases to amaze me. I went shopping over at Nutella tonight on a shopping avie. My main avie has over 120k items in my inventory, so I use other avies to shop. It has become more and more common that when I jump to other grids, all my mesh gets ripped off. I am then a lumpy nekkid system avie with a hairy face. It's not fun for anyone, trust me. To avoid this, I will strip down to a system avie, then use a full body alpha and be invisible. This prevents the embarrassment, potential maturity rating violations, excessive shopping lag, and having to tp home, log, clear cache, log back in, sometimes 2x to get things to act right again. It's efficient and effective.

I haven't filled out the profile of this shopping avie because....well...it's a SHOPPING AVIE. I guess I could put "I'm just here to shop" on the profile. But honestly...she is 1/10k avies running around without anything in their profile.

Apparently, a resident there took exception with me and sent me some rather rude messages. I didn't see them because I was engrossed in shopping and had the chat window closed. I saw them when I returned to my home grid. I then reached out to her and explained 1) why I was invisible, and 2) why there was nothing in my profile. She promptly told me she was reporting me to the grid owner for "not acting right."

I popped back over there and spoke to her in genchat, once again explaining myself. I told her to be well and left. I am interested to see if that avie or even this one gets banned because a resident didn't like that I was invisible and shopping. It's always an adventure.

Something I've been playing with is texture change stuff and so I took a chair I found in open sim an a script from outworldz.com and some textures I have and POOF a chair that you can change the textures on the cushion. There are 12 different textures to choose from to suit whatever your décor is and it's free, full perm and waiting just for you! You can find it in the Holidays & Seasons department of the Masala Al Kohav Mall. Blessings and much love, Lavia

I found this cool looking funky retro couch but alas it had no animation in it. I found the perfect fix with the "Pineapple Engine" from @AuroraAsteria located at her Starchild Shoppe at Darkharts. With barely two clicks I now have a couch with dozens of great animations in it. It is easy to use, even an idiot like me can do it!

After a wait of almost 18 months newcomer Cindy Masters has finally been able to move from the Metropolis to Redlight City. Her business Bimbo's and Blondes Introduction Agency is now open for business. With her business comes her very lucrative mansion on Fantasy Avenue.

In the 7th grade, in physical science class, I got a hard paddling with a wooden paddle with holes in it. Our physical science teacher had just explained that the universe was created by a big bang. I asked if God created the big bang. I was the only one in class with a question weighing heavily on my heart as my parents had raised me in church, and my belief was in direct conflict with what the teacher was saying. I was not rude, I didn't ask with a smirk on my face, or with ill intent. I asked as a question of curiosity. I was beaten so hard that I cried - in the 7th grade. I still wonder and marvel at the origin of the universe, often reflecting about it in my mind. Scientists thought all the stars in the universe would be pulled back together into a ball every so often, and tremendous forces would cause it to explode apart again. This way the universe was forever a constantly repeating explosion and contraction that had always been this way. Around 2017 the greatest minds in the world decided after analyzing their collected data that the universe does not go back together in a "big crunch" after the "big bang" but that it is expanding forever. Scientists then decided that to explain the big bang that the universe was empty, but b/c it was so empty the possibility for matter to exist was very high, so all the matter in the universe created itself out of nothing... That's the current theory of the creation of the universe. It just appeared out of "thin air" so to speak... I call that magic, and I am aware of the famous saying that "All significantly advanced technology will appear as magic to primitive people". In some ways the bible and science are similiar. Science says in the beginning was a tiny spark of light that exploded into all matter and all things. The bible says in the beginning God said "Let there be light..." Religion is often the way of primitive people to explain the world around them, and where you are born in the world can largely determine what you believe. I have a book that lists over 4,327 Gods and Goddesses in the world, each bound to the geographic area of their worshippers, except where the boundaries move due to war, or evangelism. That's not counting the over 2,000,000 hindu indian gods, they have a new one every so many months, e.g. a person born with a long tail. We are biological entities in a physical universe. Lifeforms, but we are also very special, we are gifted with knowledge & wisdom, and with knowledge comes the knowing of right & wrong. It's the same in most all religions, but here again opinions vary, and that's ok. We are all entitled to our own opinion. Because nobody knows for sure, if there's a God, if there's a krishna, ra, zeus, odin, big bang theory, etc. It's ALL a belief. The evidence seems to favor a big bang theory, and scientists looking up say everything is flying apart which supports the explosion idea. When I look up at night, I see stars that swirl imperceptibly slowly in the celestial realm. I know that more people have been killed in religious wars, than in all world wars combined. I know earth is a small blue ball of water, precariously suspended near a giant fireball. Last night I didn't sleep. I had been sick for days with a cold, and was literally up all night scripting things to help people as many people come to me all the time asking for help scripting something. At 5:30 am eastern standard time, I woke my partner and drove him to the hospital in the dark for colon cancer surgery. It was raining, the windows fogged up. The hospital was more like a sprawling university campus of buildings. There were no signs, and finding the right building involved parking in various parking lots walking a quarter mile to a building in the pouring rain, only to find we were at the wrong building yet again. My glasses were covered on the inside by rain, as I had forgotten my umbrella. I could not see clearly, and had nothing dry to wipe them with. Frustrations ran high as we had made it to the hospital at 6:30 am after a long drive on the interstate. We walked around the hospital in the cold rain for 50 minutes. It was 7:20 am and his surgery was supposed to start at 6:45. Headlights cutting us off on the campus and cars blocking the path to the next building. My partner started yelling and cursing at me. I started yelling and cursing back. Finally I just stopped and said "God please help me."

Feeling empty today. Monkey sits still and quietly and looks worried. Not a normal morning in Caribou.

My partnership ended last night. I want to tell openly about it as it brings some changes to Caribougrid. And I hope that it can help others who have gone through the same.

I am so happy that Andron remains in Caribou. He will be less here because of other obligations and responsibilities. And yes, we will stay close friends. Andron will continue to help me with the difficult tech issues. We share our home here and I see that there are always fresh flowers and something to eat in the kitchen.

But our partnership? It did not get a real chance, for many reasons. And the future? We see what it brings.

There are some changes in Caribou. Three 2x2 large regions are now away or empty. Monkey and me are starting to repair them and we hope to have Caribou back in shape soon.

Millions of stars lit up Caribou when I took Monkey on my shoulder for a little break from my landscaping. I sent a loving thought to my friend Veri McMaster who taught me so much. She is now with the angels, and I miss her badly.

Veri knew that our experiences in OS can have a healing effect on our brains. She went out to prove this by taking many people to adult environments and experiences. We talked much about her project, and she inspired me to read more and follow up on what she was doing.

Veri was right. Environment, architecture, experiences, good relations, can all improve our neurological health. But there is also a dark side of adult life in OS which has opposite effects.

I know it myself. For almost a year I lived through a period of exclusion and harassment. My friends were lost and lies were circulated. I was excluded from all adult events and groups all over OS. If I asked something I was told that these are only my own sick fantasies. My friends were told to ignore me or they would get excluded themselves.


I was as alone as can be, night after night, week after week. And no. I was not feeling well.

My few remaining friends saved me. But I still suffer from what happened.

This is a dangerous game. I don’t think that most people understand how dangerous it is. Lonely people who maybe have other health problems may fare much worse than I did.

I now own a major region and grid, caribougrid.com. I am happily partnered and have many new friends. Some have apologized for their treatment of me which I do appreciate.

I still suffer from the old lies that were circulated. I am not allowed into most adult events and sites. This does not hurt me anymore. I go where I am welcome and wonder about the others.

I wanted to tell this to explain my approach to Caribou. We will never exclude anyone, and we will never accept any harassment on these islands. There will never be groups that exclude others. Everyone will be welcome on these adult islands where there are as few rules as we can have.

This Grid has followed suit with other grids in banning Darkheartsos grid from accessing Trianon-World. Im sure the reasoning behind it will be clear to some of you who run adult grids, it's over run with children and adults who abuse them. As many of you wonderful peeps out there know Diva, who created this region, sadly passed away in December 2020. We have kept the region live by request from her family and from the many users who frequently visit this region. We continue to update the region and have done a little cleanup as our wonderful Diva passed in the middle of part of the build. Dynamic Worldz will continue to sponsor this region as so many of you find it so valuable.

Oggi scrivo perche sono veramente arrabbiata e ritengo che non sia questo il modo in cui si dovrebbe "giocare" nel metaverso .
Troppe invidie , troppe paranoie ...appena entri in una land subito che ti vengono in I.M. per dirti che non si può copiare nulla.......ma non vi sembra di essere tutti un po troppo ridicoli?
Capisco i creatori....ma quelli che gia copiano roba degli altri che vogliono???
E poi diciamocelo quasi tutto quello in open sim è stato "rubato " da second life con programmi non proprio leciti e legali!
Quindi dico rilassatevi...se uno lascia il "copia" non vedo perche non copiare....diverso è se come detto prima si usano programmi non leciti e allora è giusto protestare .
Poi a volte vi dimenticate che questa NON E' LA REALTA'!
Qui non ci si sposa davvero...non ci si fidanza davvero non si va a letto a dormire davvero......VIVETE LA VITA REALE CHE E' MEGLIO!

When I think of Rudi and Nasti the first memories I have of them have always been incredibly supportive and encouraging from the moment I met them. With the news of Rudi's passing, I felt an immediate loss to our community, I cannot imagine how difficult this is for Nasti. It is with sincere condolences to Nasti and the family, I created a pendant in his memory. For those that were touched by Rudi and his kind spirit, this is for you to remember that spirit.
